It is a stripped down version, but you can still do enough with it. I'm sure that most people don't need the extra features.

Wow! Is there a way to combine these products? I want C# and C++, but in a combined format--- or do I just have to download them both and they'll "amalgamate". Might as well try, thanks!!!

So this KPL thing is like a QuickBasic.NET thing? I don't see much of a point to it.

Hmmmm---- did you download the MSDN docs?

Oh yeah, and I believe there's extra error helpers too. If I remember correctly VC# can auto-fix many kinds of syntax errors.

I'm downloading the Platform SDK & then DirectX to see if it works with DarkSDK.

It looks nice, and it appears that code optimisation is availiable...

So far its not going well - it appears that ODBC32.LIB is needed. Trying to see if its part of the Platform SDK

Yes, it is part of the PSDK.

Now it complains about LIBC.LIB

Exclude that, and then we're back to the DX8 problem again...

Looks like the free version isn't compatiable with DarkSDK, I'm afraid.

It's not nice. It's called saturating the expertese pool with people only skilled in microsoft products.

They're investing for the future. Free stuff for you now means a bigger monopoly for them in the future.
