is it possible to animate a .x file with other .x files? like for say you open up a modeling program to rotate it just a bit, then save it as frame 2 or something, then string it together? if so,how would you do this? unless their is a free modeling program besides milkshape 3d that supports animations?

yes you can do this.

you do it by:

1. making all the files you need
2. loading them all in
3. hiding them all
4. unhide them all, move it whe the user intuts
5. move all hidden objects as camera/gun moves
6. there you go

could you explain this a bit more clearly? so far i get this, you load all the models in,then you hide all but the current frame. then when you press whatever button it shows them in order.but how would you make them show it over time? i really do not understand this at all

I think I remember the Doom game in the showcase uses this technique for some human object. I was just looking at the models and it had seperate files for each frame.

hm.... looks familiar , yeah i remember , program called "POSER" is a very simple program that has like much sample humans , and you VERY easily choose animation you like , your you can animate it itselve and it exports like seperate file for each frame.

i make free 3d models , then you tell me some stuff about usseles posts and then something heppen...

You would do it like this :

** Untested **
Now it is alot easier to do this with an animated object, it is also better to do it that way.
