No, Since the name is "stupidBasic" it should be

Enter a Command
>>> Make a Program
Executing HelloWorld

Hello World

are you basically just making a DBP compiler out of DBP?

Uhh...can you give us an example (codewise) of what your doing? If your doing this in DBP...well your not very clear on what your doing. Are you just making a bunch of functions or what o_O

Your screenshot is down as well.

huh? DBP compiler in DBP??

first of all, its NOT in DBP, second of all, it's NOT a DBP compiler, its a stupidBASIC compiler made in C++.

my screenie aint down, it displays perfectly for me.

code example?

1:

2:

if you want more code examples, i'll be glad to post some more, this time with BMP/JPG/GIF,WAV,MP3,3D and stuff if you want.
oh wait, sorry i put in more image files than DBC...

OOPS! dont forget registry editing!!
(just kidding -- but i SHOULD add it in...)

Actually, I miss said that, this is really a script runner, not compiler.

Do you have it read? or is it that you have to type your whole program in and lose it the insant it runs?

nope you keep it, in v0.2 it actually saves as you type. in fact, you could just open up sav.txt, write your program in it, go into the editor, type "END" and you'll have your program.

script runner? it's not a scripting language.

There is more than one form of BASIC you know, and TGC didn't invent it.

DB newbe, it's great to see that you're doing this in C++, though I wouldn't call it the best just yet. :p

if it doesn't compile to something, it is really a script. or so I think the rule is. Although I am hesitant on the specifics. Although a compile command looks like it isn't.

That wasn't aimed at you. And I think you're being a little strong on the defensive here. And this should probably be in the programming talk forum as it isn't made in/for DB.

Which is kinda why I thought it was a DBP Compiler in the first place. Things here typically are written in DBP, and since this is DarkBasic, I figured this was a pun off of Dark Basic, mabey makeing the commands easier, but still a pun.

Now I Know differently.

I have two things to say.

1) Well done man for taking a shot at making your own language its better than I could do.

2) Why stupidBasic it sounds silly and really not funny.

Why are all the commands on seperate lines? It really doesn't do anything for the readability.

the only reason i'm staying around is to see you add variables, otherwise it isn't a proper programming language, because what can you really do without variables, the answer, not a lot

just wait...it will take a while... but he might actually add something , like for example calculations for print like

print
2
+
2

or something like that...
i think it MIGHT be worth of sticking up to see...

and sorry for the wrong thread but i need to say to IanG for shark basic so he don`t say the same thing to it :
Shark Basic will have print calculation and some stuff , but not surely witch - Shark Basic is meanth for the guys who NEVER programmed before , so it`s much simpler , and parametres are too...(than ordinary basic`s) , so it`s more for learning then for programming . (but i insure you it will be ussable to MAKE something as well...)

logically thinking thsat would print 2, as it would not know that there was a + sign following

well a major concept of programming is the variables, so you definetly need to have variables in, even if they are like python's where they have no type (ie they can be string and two lines later it is an int)

well good luck , just dont use shark basic threads to post news about your`s (we are not competitors..)

and if you want me to make you a cool signature (and also a logo) ok , but i STRONGLY suggest you change a name , noone likes the "stupid basic" name , it`s not nice.

example , : (someguy)

hey , friend , i just learned the whole STUPID BASIC , i`m smart , ain`t i ?

..

if you know what i mean..
