Well someday you may come back to Darkbasic Pro. We'll still be here to help you if you have problems.

wtf??? Did anyone read the other review on his site?? One got zeros on every catagory but one, which got a six. His overall review of it was 8... WTF?!?!
I think he has something against 3d game makers. The ones he scored high were all 2d game makers.

EDIT: Personally, I don't see why I need to switch to blitz or something for speed or anything. I'm still in the middle of making two games in dbc, and won’t be converting to db pro until they're finished. I've experienced the issues it has on my newer computer, and found out how to get rid of them. I know the speed issues, but they forced me to re-think my programming, and helped me learn how to optimize my programs. I've learn tricks for doing nice graphics without the help of lots of polys or shaders, and I think the experience has been invaluable. If I had started in db pro, I don't think I would have ever learned half the things I know now about making games.

ruccus...everyone is entitled to an opinion, can you make a game better than doom3...i couldnt and even though i liked it i had some complaints.
fpsc was advertised as easy.........easy it isnt unless you stick with the box standard way of doing stuff....that guys review isnt that far off.
i had a freind house sit for me, he used my computer and had a go with fpsc,he read the instructions and had a good go with it, he thought it was crap,just a drag and drop lego block type game maker. i explained to him it could do more,but more isnt in the instructions so he didnt know,tooo late he lost interest.
i wished id waited until the final relaese b4 buying it,as i bought the ea version and was told on ads that it would have this that and the other.........ill never buy ea again.

the programmer formarly known as thicko.

What did TGC claim would be in the full version that wasn't? I didn't notice anything missed out, the main differences were the speed improvements and addition of physics...? I only remember false claims being made by ill informed and hopeful forums members...

And the EA of Quikly is quite good in that sense becaseu I'm adding a new update at least once a week right up until launch And even after launch a new update at least every month Its an organic product in the sense I'll always be adding stuff like that, because thats what I'm like, always adding or tweaking new features in things as I think of them

I didnt say people were'nt entitled to their own opinions, I was saying that the only people who have the right to actually "put something down" like this guy did, in such a rude way, are the people that can do better, which he obviously cant.

<EDIT>

There's a thin line between stating your opinion and having the right to say that your opinion speeks for everyone else.

<EDIT 2>

The guy so blatantly disregards the true power of FPSC just because he lacks the intelligence to find out what the system can do. After reading more Ill add to my statement, in order for him to be able to critique FPSC, he should atleast know what he is critiquing. If he continues to have this mind set on everything in the world he'll never look further than the first experience with anything.

Anyways, I dont see why I'm even discussing this guy, he's just some no-name kid that started a tk website to try and make himself out to be something he's not, and by us discussing anything that has to do with him so much we're just giving him what he wants; attention.

I think that I'll come back to this thread to state something that I've forgot to do:
The review mentioned in the first post is crap! No one should ever review things like that guy did - it's just wrong.

Let's agree to disagree which we pretty much all agree that the review was of poor quality.

Since I've had DB Classic I've had...

3 different Graphic cards.
3 different Processors
3 different Windows
Various memory configurations
Various sound cards
3 different Motherboards
about 5 different Direct X

DBC has only crashed a couple of times in years of use. Plus it is fast for Retro style games, but not modern games unless they have fewer polygons. The only thing I don't like about DB Classic is the way it clips thing off the bottom of the screen. Planets will dissapear for example.

But I like DB Classic. Haven't tried Pro yet.
