when you're on a date, and the girl sees straight through you, tell her this:

It's LEGO! Not legoS. Don't believe me? Try www.legos.com - you'll be redirected

As for geeky love advice, well - if you need to 'explain' your worth to a girl who discovers your dark dirty secret (that you're a geek) then pff - imo she's not going to be the one for you*

*Please note - I'm a bad example, being as I am a girl-geek myself. Take advice with a pinch of salt and a health warning.

You play with lego.
You have more pieces of lego than me.

Saying legos is almost as bad as saying math, instead of maths.

And both of those don't make any big difference to the world, so let's all hold hands and sing happy songs.

As for the blog, where's the STAR WARS!!!!?

Really!? I always thought you were that man on your avatar.

Anyway some good dating advice for anybody: be aggressive, but no too aggressive.

Good example: Your looking kinda pale today. Wanna catch a movie?

Bad example: Hey bitch! We're going on a f*cking date tonight.

As you can tell, I was just dieing for an excuse to post that last one.

I have never met anyone in my entire life (in person) who uses "maths". It's strange--- like saying "persons" or "peoples" instead of "people".

Your analogy couldn't be more incorrect. Maths is short for mathematics. I'm not even sure 'mathematic' is even a real word! And I can tell you right now, everyone down here uses the word 'maths', and everyone knows we're very 'proper' with our english. Aint dat right, mate?

Thank you for sorting out the plural lego issue. It was the same on the website. I felt pain right down to the core of my very soul when I read that.

Man, LEGO or legos, or whatever the hell kids call it these days was awsome. Though I can't stand them for long periods of time anymore.

Anyway, you gotta celebrate geek-ness, rather then hide it.

It's a surprise though seeing the types of girls some "geeks" end up with. The other day on the bus, I saw some fat/bald guy ranting about a database programming problem at work to his hot asian girlfriend.

yeah, even if it's proper to say "lego" when meaning the plural of them. I'll still refer to them as "legos".

after all, i'm a geek not an english major

Well, I'm not saying you gotta start busting technical crap about PCs when a girl's around, but don't deny what you do when asked. I try to live my life as well-rounded as I can, while still being geeky about certain things unrelated to PCs or Video-Games. Better to be ambitious than completly mediocre.

That goes for girls to. Geek Guys don't want girls who care only about how they look in the morning.

Well seeing as it appears to be the done thing in this thread...

Guys, i'm a thir*cough* old woman who programmes computer games for a hobby, enjoys racing cars and machine embroidery. I work in R&D/tech for a technical services company and I like men who can challenge me mentally and cook (because I cant). I cannot stand football, or lethargy.

In my case you can just ask Rich@TGC as he knows me reasonably well, we have a long history of me hassling him and he knows my jim/harry status . Of course, you could always just not cyber me and then there wont be any embarassement on either side .
