i still feel my view on blogs are valid.

they are for depressed people who have nothing better to do than reporting on their depressing life hoping to pass their depression onto someone else.

yeah, Myspace is what you get when you take facebook and xanga, put them together... and make them 10x worse.

I've never used myspace but I don't see anything wrong with it, it's better than kidnapping cats and forcing them to work for space clowns.

Don't forget that there's the iweb app with ilife06 for the mac. It might not be too long before iwebbing is 'the in thing'.

I'm not addicted but I am a feverent user

As a web designer I detest using it though. It is poorly thought out. Bad design. Weird colours. But that's what makes myspace myspace. I have a feeling if it was given a much swisher, sleeker look it'd lose its charm and just become another dotcom enterprise.

But on a social level it's out of this world. Congrats to the guys who're about to sell it for millions of dollars!

I have nothing against Blogs and actually think it's a great way to let people know what you've been up to, and is pretty fun in terms of interaction. On the other hand, when your entire contact list is made up of people like on TDP's list, then I would be shamed to admit I even use it.

Plus, MySpace.com isn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.

For those who said something like "well Blogs are just for people who are F*cked up and can't socialize with people normally" well, that's just plain wierd. Some of the most talented, and basiclly most charismatic people I know are online. I am heavly into gamedev and basiclly just ambition to succeed in whatever "geek" thing I do, and you just can't find those type of people in your school. I socialize plenty, have no trouble doing it, and all the people I surround myself with have no trouble doing it. Tons of t celebrities Blog, and using the same thinking, I'd have to assume they have no life!

but it is 2006 ..right?

So they have you enter your age and birthday (not deducing your age from your birthday) and then only check the age field?

when you sign up, you put in your bday and it "calculates" your age from that to determine whether or not to automaticaly prevent people other than those on your friends list from viewing your profile

That just further proves my theory that humans are stupid cattle.

You all hear about the live journal hackers? They even told the guys of LJ the exploits they were using. LJ claims to have fixed them and the hackers said 9 out of 10 holes still exist. But the hacker group stated that they would be turning their attention to other similar sites, which would be sites like xanga and myspace. I think they've just left myspace alone because they probably think its current state of operation is bad enough already.

Half of your school, are snobby little fad fashonists, with their emo little brains that will end up no where farther than a hobo. (Wow, that was rude of me) Sorry about that, I just hate myspace so much. I hate how kids think that their lives suck, they dont have anything to live for, and how they say "Oh, I'm 'Gothic'" (What ever the heck that is). They just think being so emo (emotional) will make them cool.

It's another trend, more widely adopted at the high school - college mass market than Xanga. Take advantage of its social interaction capabilities to woo some beautiful women, and you've pretty much exhausted its usefulness. Anybody on it, Get Help _Now_. You have much more important things to do with your time.

That site is mostly kids--- not one of my friends are into it. If we want to blog or have a personal website, we just pay for a webhost and do it ourselves. Myspace licks and 99% of the internet community knows it.
