or you could sharpen a pencil, go over there and.... threaten to write a very harsh letter to the PETA about how they're treating the dog....

Some countries eat insects, some eat charcoal, some eat dog, some eat cat, and some eat humans. In Italy, they get these little birds who gorge themselves at night - like eat themselves to death - they end up full of grain and looking rediculous. These are roasted, then eaten whole, bones 'n beak and everything. It's tradition to cover your face while eating this cute and crunchy delicousy.

We all eat crud that turns other nations stomach - there's people out there that would rather gouge out their tastebuds out than eat haggis, yet there's more unsavory crud in the average burger.

At the end of the day, it all comes out the same colour in the end, so I say go for it, eat some dog, horse, kitten, sparrow or antique fossilised Emu egg, just be sure to brush your teeth afterwords.

That's my favourite. Although I am partial to volcanically singed rhino crocus.

Haggis rocks. I've had it before and I'll have it again if I have the chance. The only problem is the fat/calorie content. I'm pretty sure it's one of the unhealthiest things you can eat.

To all those who have refused to eat haggis, just try a little bit. Just a little. Try to ignore that it's made of a sheeps' soul, or whatever and taste the peppery goodness.

In Scotland, Haggis is remarkably healthy.... compared to everything else that is.

The thing is, I didn't know what was in haggis until I was about 20, we were always too afraid to ask . Thing is it does'nt look disgusting once it's out it's skin, and it tastes great. Personally I have a harder time eating KFC chicken, cists and broken bones are freakin gross.

Erm, in that case every time I've ever ordered beef chow mein or beef curry (ie. all the time) from many local Chinese takeaways, then they must all be wailing away like no tomorrow as they cook my lovely, yet decently priced, supper. Yum. Indians on the other hand *never* have beef. But if you ask nicely then they can order it in advance for you. These days religion is normally shoved to one side. For example some places will do beef if you order a day or two early, so obviously they don't really care, just don't want to eat it themselves. And I cannot see them employing a new non-indian cook just for you. Coupled that to the fact that several indian friends at work eat beefburgers quite happily (whilst being still quite religious), then probably quite lapse.

The one time I tried haggis I thought it tasted like mincemeat if it was made out of black pudding. Not bad, just a little rich for me.

Cheers

I am 99% probably lying in bed right now... so don't blame me for crappy typing

Mmmm, haggis. I prefer Hall's brand haggis - not too spicy.

They also do vegetarian haggis too - and it's amazinly similar in taste and texture to the full McCoy. It's probably made of carrot-intestines and oat-bladders though

Haggis just tastes like slightly spiced mince (that's ground beef to you North American continent people).

Wow, all this talk of haggis is making me want to hurl. I've never tried it before, but anything greasy and fatty makes my stomach turn.

I have no idea what haggis is, and frankly from the reactions I don't want to know.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haggis

"Haggis is a traditional Scottish dish. Although there are many recipes, it is normally made with the following ingredients: sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver, windpipe and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally boiled in the animal's stomach for approximately an hour"

Sounds absolutely vile to me.
