Why wouldnt you tell any one what your using, unless its cracked software. Or do you want all the joy of using this new found software to your self? Its not like I care what it is, because I have what I need.

And if you just started modelling chris, I cant see any thing good coming from you, in the first 5 weeks.

Erm, i guess i kinda kept to myself about modeling. Actualy i've been doing it for about 7 months. I usualy just edit pre-made models, so...

And I like the fealing of knowing that I'm the only one using this software.

That would be really cool to have a program that would do that ! Can you make a animated model of one of your friends or yourself and put them into fpsc with a nice digital camera and your program ?

If so... Very very cool !

Lizzblizz, theres several posibilities:

1) Chris stole a program in development and dosn't want to tell
2) The program dosn't even exist, he just wants to make some models after the pictures, and needs ideas.
3) A friend made the program, but he's doing the beta tests, and can't reveal the programs name.
4) He really does have the program, but dosn't want others to get it.

It must be something that was recently released, because he said he likes knowing he's one of the only people that own the program. Which means that he must somehow know that he is one of the only people that currently owns the program. And because he said that it sometimes dosn't work very well, it suggests that the program is newer, or was droped during development.
Anyways, Chris, I hope you tell us about this program! It sounds AWESOME!

There is a program called Realviz ImageModeler that is a semi-automated program for making models from photographs. I've never used it, I don't know how much it costs, and I don't know if it will make game-ready models. But, the link is below if anyone wants to check it out:

Thank God someone came forward with the name of this or similar software. ChrisB, shame on you for teasing us with a powerful program but not letting us know any details.

Here's another program which can take a front photo of a face and turn it into 3D with unbelievable accuracy.

Yes, its called hard work . You can take a front view and a side view of a face, place the images onto plains in your chosen 3d software, and box, nurb or spline model it.

FaceGen has a fun demo that you'll play with all week. But it costs way too much. And not only that, you need to give them more money if you ever want to use the models in a game or software (unless prerendered to a video file or something). I don't see how any independent artist can afford to use such software. And all it does is make HEADS.

Truespace 5.2 (with free plugin) can do facial expressions, texturing, blinking, lipsyncing, etc. Plus can model, bone, export .x format, etc.
It can't import .x files it didn't make though

Whoah yeah, I just checked out the price. That's pretty steep for a "head-making plugin". I could see where it would come in useful for professional artists who have to crank out lots of generic type characters in a short amount of time though.

For those wanting to use software like this you could try using Pictomd 3d (its free as far as I know), but I agree with Higgins, if you want to learn modeling then this is not the way to go.

I tried Pictomd 3d, its a waste of time, its better to model it your self. It doesnt even model an image of a hand, it puts the texture onto a box.
