I have an idea. Why don't you add something to Magic FPS that will allow people to import their own crosshairs?

Hmmm. A hud editor. MFPS is all about objects, but I could throw something on the prefs screen that would allow you to import stuff like that. I'll look into it...

It won't do any harm Sinistar plus it add's to your already impressive feature list. How is the work going anyway? Any new feature's we should be aware of?

Right now I'm mostly working on my game. Captain Zero. I've got lots of ideas.

The next update should be downloadable such that anyone can download it, but it's only useful if you already have Magic FPS.

So I'm working out how to make that happen with some reasonable security -because as the user base grows it becomes more of a pain to send everybody who got it an update.

A lot of people want a demo too so I should put a save-disabled version out there too.

Sinistar,
I know I have been coming up with quite a few suggestions lately but I noticed the guy working on the hud maker project has apparently decided to quit.Having a hud maker would be nice.
While I can make huds I don't know how to make the application that enable someone else to make them.
Maybe you could come up with an idea.

I think I might do that, after Weapon Creator.

MFPS should have a hud creator...like it takes pics you have that are like huds and lets you place them to be positioned in game...and it gives you the coordinates for it, and imports the huds to fpsc by itself, now that would get me interested

The thing is to make custom huds you need a proper tga file with the mask etc. --which requires a paint program. It's the kind of thing that if you know how to do it, then you probably know how to put it into your game. I could make some buttons that let you specify the pic and have a WYSIWYG editor for the coords, but you'd have to work out the actural hud elements for yourself.

My thoughts, just start with transparent black png, tga file. allow users to add their own hud items (TeMpLaR1 has some free and some packs) that can be dragged around on the screen. Give a list of variables to drag on the screen and maybe some text then write out the proper files. Yes it can be done manually but, would be nice to see on the screen while you are creating it and have the files written. This could also be used for in-game dialog huds, etc..

I bought magic fps the other day and it is great. I can't get the free segment editor tgc released to work. But magic fps is so simple to use I love it!

Dennisb Thanks! That's what it's all about. Easy.

tschwarz: Yes. What you said. That's exactly what I was thinking. Just eliminate the work of putting hud elements into the game.

PS Studios. Whoever hasn't gotten it in 48 hours should email me and I'll send you a link myself.

I just figured out how to do patches, so updates will be easier for me. With the growing number of users, it became a really daunting task to update everyone, but with a smart patch I can just put it up and let people download it.

What email did you use to buy? Sometimes my spam filter eats emails. Tradebit sends links as soon as paypal gets the payment. Sometimes I give special links for different reasons. Email me at my shanon at uberdroid.com email and I'll send a link right away if I haven't already.

PS Studios --sending link now...
