Sorry for the long post.
I will start this thread by saying, I hope Sam and his family have to endure no more health problems, I really do.
For the EA buyers who supported this project, I need to say in their defense: It has been over 2 weeks now since we got a news letter from Sam regarding Quikly, We all have got our CD’s that don’t work, and that’s why I think most people are a bit Pissed.
There was a delay in the postage of our disk’s to begin with, Sam had began not to reply to questions on the Quikly Forum, then when he did, he told us that the delays were because, his wife was sick, then Sam himself became sick with thyroid problems, after that his son became unwell, Sam had computer problems, but got a Laptop, and told us all should be ok from now on.
We then got a email telling us that the web site would close, for two weeks, but we would all get emails with the software downloads when he sorted it out, he even put on the temporary web page that all orders were for filled, this is not true.
We are now told that his Mum is ill and he will be in touch in a week or two, but has not replied to any emails, or posted any excuses on any Forums that I am aware of.
He should upload the software so his customers can get what they paid for, if it has bugs, I could open a bug section on my forum, on his behave, that he could monitor, and reply to, when things at home improve, it doesn’t take more that an hour to address these issues with his customer base, and put everything right.
As I said, I sympathize with Sam, and know his passion is programming, I also know he would have been on these forums and checked them over the last few weeks, and never replied.
I think we are not being told the full story, I think this may be out of embarrassment, or fear of angry reactions.
Lets take one possible scenario, say Sam’s hard drive went down, and he never backed up his software, (stranger things have happened at sea) and he was too embarrass to tell us, I would wait until Sam got back to programming another Working version, but I would like to be told.
Anyway, as I have said before, I am open to offer any help I am able to, but Sam, you need to start by getting in touch, and letting us know what’s up.
All the best for the future.
