Yes. It's repetative and I get this feeling of something drilling into my mind. I tried to like it but I just couldn't.

IceBound Melodic rock/metal band with loads of lead guitar, clean female vocals, and more guitars! What more could you want?

The white stripes are not the worst of the new indi groups, but frankly they bore me.

Anyone in a 2-piece band like that should be experimenting, with styles, instruments, not just making dreary and monotonous indi-pop.

The best thing about these bands though, is you just wait a couple of years and they go away, like all those Radiohead and Manics rip-offs we got at the end of brit pop.

HA!

Quote: "Would you really prefer John Bonham, one of the best drummers ever and who shined in Led Zeppelin, or Meg White, who is a better fit for a stripped down rock group like the Stripes"

Please don't use "Meg White" and "Stripped Down" in the same sentence... it gives me chills (bad chills, not good chills). To even put John Bonham, the greatest drummer whose ever lived, in the same paragraph or even the same language as Meg White is an insult even to the puke John Bonham choked in. She isn't just bad, she's ghastly. She can't keep a tempo. Seriously, if you look up "Don't quit your day job" on wikipedia I'll be you'll see a bio for Meg White! lol sorry, I went too far again

Sorry, was moving to my house (out of my crummy apartment), so I couldnt reply dazzag.

Have you the latest album? 20th Century boy is pretty good.

Fantastic album. Although my favourite album is Wish you were here (and the song is perfect for funerals ). Have you any Waters albums? Amused to death IMO is right up there. And it has awesome speaker effects.

And to add another band I'll nominate INXS. Used to love them. Good olde shuffle mode.

Cheers"

At the first part: No, I stopped listening to a lot of music after I went to college, mainly because I didnt have enough money to buy any albums. I will try and pick it up, and scan for any other good albums.

Second part, I have heard those albums, and I might own them. I will look after I finish un-packing. Most of the albums I own are ones my dad gave me, he is partially deaf (cant hear out of one ear), so he gave me a lot of his albums, I have only looked through half or so, the rest is in a big box

Third, are ipods that good? I was thinking of getting one, but I dont know if it is right. I could live with a cd player, but I heard ipods have great sound quality. Any truth in those words?

Mine sounds fine. But with 60gb at hand you can increase the quality as you like really. I originally had a 1gb Sony effort (very nice too), but after I saw a friend's 40gb iRiver I knew that having all of the Glam rock pretty much ever (amongst other things) in the palm of my hands to use at any time was too good to miss

And shuffle mode does rock. Seems like it isn't completely random. For example if it chucks up, say, ABBA and I'm not in the mood (I am sometimes I admit...) then I flip to the next. After a bit it may chuck up Metallica. I'm in the mood so I listen to the full song. A couple of songs later another Metallica song appears. Listen to enough tracks in full and the same artist seems to appear more often than not. Out of 2500 tracks it is too unrandom. Saying that it seems to have a liking to Metallica (which is good as I do too). That and Fleetwood Mac (which luckily I love too). Oh, and after a few ABBA ignores they tend to not appear again. Gotta be some logic there.

Cheers

I wouldnt be suprised if the ipod was programmed to enhance you wanting to listen to it. I might get a 60gb in a few weeks, sounds swell.

Dazzag, in iTunes, when you have your iPod plugged in, and your in the window where you will upload songs to it, at the bottem (I belive) there is an option on how often it will play the same songs on shuffle, and I set it as low as possible to get a big mix.

Ok, will look at that. But I get a pretty random choice anyways. It just seems to me that if you don't ignore artists on a shuffle then it will bring back more of their songs. Then again if you like an artist then you probably would have more of their songs, and would be less likely to skip. Meh, it works pretty well..

One thing is clear. You're all morons except for Flindiana Jones. Queen > All. Nine Inch Nails, Daft Punk, revenG, D-Sire, Cimera, Fear Factory, and AC/DC also rock. Just not as much as Mercury and his boys, 'specially when they be riding bikes.

Radiohead, Massive Attack, Biffy Clyro, Linkin Park, Snow Patrol, Coldplay. My favourite bands. Also, while we're talking about music: Leftfield, Don Davis, James Newton Howard, Hans Zimmer. etc...

I've never understood coldplay. They just put me to sleep. How can you have a song called Speed of Sound and make it so damn slow? Again, I've tried to like them, but once again ended up hating them with a passion.

I've always found Queen very hit-and-miss. Whilst I never choose to listen to them, some of their songs are quite good, whereas others are just awful.

I still think the melodic death scene is underrated though. So much talent, so little recognition.
