I drive a '96 Chevrolet Cavalier with 122,000 miles. Sorry no pics atm, but it's not much to look at anyhow. I would like a Chevy Monte Carlo though (thinking realisticly, none of us can afford some of those dream cars ).

I didn't know that, about the Skyline being too low... I mean look at it, it doesn't look that much lower than a Lotus Elise and those are all over the place where I live. What safety standards do European cars not meet?

Is it true that the Skyline is 4WD? I didn't think regular cars could be 4WD hehe

If thats the new Elise then it is because they recently got changed to allow them to be sold in the US. Something to do with the engine if I remember rightly. Basically a stupid regulation.

Mine is very similar to this (but red and I have better alloys):-
Nice little car for leaving most things on the horizon.

Here is what I wanted, but couldn't quite get the company to give me an allowance (or as a company car). Plus they were all import and hadn't been build here for years:-

And what I really really want (that is not fantasy land):-

Thats the FQ400 BTW. 0-60mph in about 3.5 seconds. Oh, or a 911. Obviously.

Cheers

Yes, the Skyline is 4wd! It also has 4 wheel steering traction system. Basically an awesome bit of tech that applies perfect braking to each wheel individually and automatically while cornering. Don't forget the active rear-front power line to make oversteer easy peasy. I really like the Skyline cos it's basically filled with the sort of tech you see in a £300,000 super car, but at £40k (and as little as £10k second hand). 0-60 in 4.8 seconds as standard in the GTRs too (faster than all 911 Carreras to my knowledge), and convertable to over 1000bhp. Awesome reliability, performance, handling, technology, price.

The Jensen Interceptor was the first car to have 4WD IIRC.

It's my third dreamcar:

That is the prettiest car on this entire thread. The ferrari behind it isn't bad either (not that you can really see it too well lol)

Nu uh, eleanor is by far the prettiest car in this thread.

Offtopic slightly: Did anyone see Tokyo Drift and what they did with the mustang? In the movie 4 teenagers did it with spare parts overnight and were testing it in the morning, In real life it took 4 highly trained professionals 2 months and $80,000 to do it, lol.

I might be buying a car tomorrow. It's not very exciting, but it's my first real car purchase. It requires finance for several years and I'm gonna take care of it.

Apparently, because VW own both seat and audi, it's like a cheap version of a golf or an a3. Suits me down to the ground. Sometimes I wish I had more money to buy a super cool car, but I don't like cars enough to spend stupid amounts on them.

Am going to the dealer today to try and pick this up, a 2000 Dodge Dakota Sport. You cant see it in the picture very well, but it has huge aftermarket dual exhaust, and a tuned engine, giving it around 250+hp. And does 0-60mph in about 7.5 seconds.

Adrian, the Leon is excellent value for money. It's almost unbeatable. Like you said, it's basically the reliability of a Golf with decent performance and what I think are pretty good looks. It's the badge that takes the price down. It will degrade in value quickly, but if you're gonna keep it for some years, you can't go wrong. Very good car and the Cupra R has awesome performance, but they're very top of the line. Rivals a Civic Type R.

Anyway, good buy.

I reckon I'll be doing 40,000 miles a year. I don't think depreciation should be a concern. Thanks for the vote of confidence. I secretly want a cupra, but can't afford/justify one

I ride in an old TARDIS, the old model 40, I'm sure you've heard of it.

but if I am just popping down to the shops, a type 9 shuttle is my choice, it's only antimatter driven, but it does at least have micro-torpedo launchers and duel phaser cannons, always useful when trying to find a parking space on a busy saturday morning. Well actually I own two, but the other one's impulse reactors need replacing, and it's just so hard to get the replacement parts these days. I only really keep it because I programmed the replicator system to understand cat meows, they might not be able to operate a tin opener, but they can meow their meal of choice into a command pannel easily enough.

yes, thats mine. I get strange looks when I ride it down in the subways...

nyc is well more than the concrete jungle that is manhattan. manhattan (nyc) is but 1 of 5 boroughs that make up NYC. I live in Queens, the easternmost of the 5, and its very suburban, at least the further east you go .

but to answer your question, no, thats not mine

@TDP What kind of gas milage do you get on that beast?

P.S. the turning circle's are terrible on those things, it will turn a 3 point exercise into a "I just destoryed the neighbourhood" affair. Also they charge you extra for taking up the whole car park, serveral other car parks, the interveaning space between, and the old man's guarden you've just protruded the pointy end into is now sueing you... oh the plus side though, it does have 50,000 turbo laser turrets.

I cant afford the nuclear fuel it uses, so it just kinda sits there.
