Kenjar: Isn't the teleporter supposed to leave most simple viruses/bacteria behind to prevent an epedemic on the ship?

NeX: Didnt Einstein work out that the faster you go the heavyer you get? That was where the enery that was attempting to move you at higher than the speed of light goes (if it exists). This would lead up to you becoming infinitely heavy and becoming a black hole (I think)

The faster you go, the greater your mass and the more energy required to move you faster. As you reach the speed of light, your mass is infinite, requiring an infinite amount of enery for you to go faster - that's why you can't go faster than light ... at least, that's the theory.

I meant that if you stopped time, (I'm thinking in video game terms here, timer based movement and the like), any movement you make will be (movement)/nothing, which equals infinity.

Since the other one was scaring you guys so much...

I didn't really read the whole thread so ignore this if it was already posted.

No you wouldn't because you are techinically dead already, you would be teleported and time traveled. Oooohhh!!!

The answer to weither or not teleportation is possible goes along with the question...can we bend matter? According to Newton (I think) matter can be bent. And if you look at this poorly drawn diagram (attached), you will notice that as matter bends, the distance between the starting point and end becomes much less.

If you can bend space, you have (A), proved Einsten right, and (B), why would you want to teleport?. You could just bend space so you were a very short disance away from your destination.

(I worked out a theoretical teleporter. Unforuneately the user would end up as a hollow sphere, and probably inside a black hole.)
