BASIC (Beginner's All-purpose Symbolic Instruction Code) was named this in order to convince people to use it. The acronym means nothing really if you think about it except that it "sounds" easy to use. There is nothing that says that just because the language is like "BASIC", that it has to be called "BASIC".

Something like "SIMPLE" for (Starters Instructional Multi-purpose Programming Language Environment) or perhaps "SIMPLEX" for (Starters Instructional Multi-purpose Programming Language Environment for X) would be no different than BASIC if you follow that mentality.

Or "GEM" for Games Easily Made?

My point is that yes, I would be more likely to notice something like "BASIC" or "SIMPLE" as to "Dark Messiah" if I were a beginner. But as an advanced user, I would probably scoff at first.

It's a touch decision.

It's really bad when a friend see a book on my desk that says:
Beginner's Guide to Dark Basic Game Programming

They usually say, why would you need help with a basic language?

Even though they don't know what BASIC is.

Also, we could say that BASIC stands for something else.

Apparently Vista may be delayed again. However, if the commercial version will be out at the end of the year - why does the home version need to be delayed !?

Come to the last Unofficial DBPro Convention (http://convention.logicstudios.net/)
Dont do anything I wouldn't do. But if you do, take pictures.

I can't for the life of me figure out the naughty word you used that begins with the letter "I" -- and it's driving me crazy not knowing.
