Hello.

I have an object that I would like to get into DarkBASIC Pro. (I have a trial)

Here is it: http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c136/Ediseye/Object.jpg

I am new to programming all together so I have never programmed anything before.

Help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello idiseye,
welcome too the DBP community.
i would like too help you out a bit. heres a few things u should know.
1) the object should normally be in X format
2) the forums are always open. feel free too ask questions
3) here we go. ill tell you your code

okay, too load the object into DBP you need too use the command

the object # is the number that you can use too call upon the object when you need. for instance moving it in a game and so on. you code should look like
all this will do is load the object and then exit the program. use the
command too wait for a key before it ends. so....

Look up the 3d commands section in the help files (F1) those will give you the scale object, texture object and more of the commands too corrispond with this.

if you need anymore help just ask,

Hello.

Thanks for help and the welcome.

Coding seems real complicated to me. I'm a 3D modeler so I am wondering if I will be able to get a very basic knowledge of this type of code so maybe I could make a novice game one of these days.

Like I said, this stuff seems a bit too complicated to me to get into it too much.

Thank you.

Search for some tutorials within the forums, even if they don't fit your idea of the game, it'll help you understand the way to code simple stuff. There are some good tutorials about 2d games in the "2d all the way" board.

Also i recommend reading the help that comes with DbPro, and looking at the examples it brings. Build up your knowledge and any doubt, come ask at the forums.

3D is not that hard to do! It will take some time. But if you love 3D models, then the "LOAD OBJECT" command is your friend! Coding is different, you need to think in an abstract way. Objects (the models you load) referred to by number, not name. Press F1 when you see this screen for help:

Only ".x",".3ds",".dbo" and some other file formats can be loaded. a JPG file is a picture, not a 3D model. Kinda like how you can't use a photo of money in a store.

Hello.

Thanks for all the help. I'll look into the code some more.

Sixty, I know a lot about computer, just not coding.

Right now I use .3ds so I'll try messing around with that.

Thank you.

Yeah, sorry if the picture insulted you lol. I wasn't sure if you would know what I meant if I had said "The Editor". so I decided to post a picture

WARNING: 3ds objects do not always load nicely into DBPro, or so I've heard... Try it anyway though.
