You shouldn't really post about such stuff on a place like this (believe me; I posted about my Final Fantasy site on.... well, a bigger ff site, and immediately, people got angry and started like 'screw you, this site rulez, and I won't go over to any n00bie crap'.
Even though in my oppinion, my site had some stuff that that site lacked, people reacts like this.
Sad but true.
What you could do though, according to my reccomendation, would be to throw up a forum about DBP in some other language than english; that might attract i. e. french speaking guys, etc.

Det är väl så

@Farooqaaa -
There's already a board here that deals with DBP. There's also a board for plugins, another for games. And for everything else, there's Geek Culture.

In order to generate interest, you site would need something this site doesn't have. What exactly will it have that you can't find here? You've named nothing so far.

Hmm. Maybe you could just use your site dbp resources, where you search for new plugins here and stuff and put them all on one site specially for them, ofcourse by the owner's approval. But no one is gonna leave TGC Forums to join your forum. Not because yours isnt good, but because most of the people using DBP are gathered here, and it took quite a long time to get all the people around the world to gather in just one place. No one wants to leave this forum as they know they would be seperating and stuff, and we will all be lost once again. I suggest making a good dbp fansite maybe now that you got that domain (think about what you wanna do before buying a domain!)

Yeah i know! As there are about 20 + webamsters forum, so why do all the users dont discuss web in one forum? There are alot of well developed web forum, i saw 3 forums that have are same but all the 3 forums are very good, i see about (700+) users online everyday in those forums. So wat are your thoughts?

So many more people manage web pages than use DBP. We don't have nearly 700 daily users online in this forum. Therefore, dividing the users into multiple forums would be detrimental to the group communication. At 700 users, dividing up the groups would be beneficial.

Although, making good games would promote TGC better than a website.

Cash Curtis II:- Yeah! i start the forum to make games! You will ask "Why that forum gets u to make games" good question, Actually to earn something i am running a Webmasters forum, which put me in WebDevelopment, and i forgoted all the code that i learnt in DBP . So if is use that DBP forum that will help me remind my DBP codes etc..

So wat u think now ?

Edit:-

And if the games, applications etc posted here post on my forum, and people see it, then will get interested in buying DBP, because all the games made with DBP are really intresting ones, so i am not starting that forum for my self, but its a good way to promote DBP !

There are already spin-offs of the TGC forum, and I do visit one. This people generally go elsewhere because they find some of this community can be a bit flamey, I joined up to one, and the community there is full of a lot of nice people, but its quite rare for this 'spinoffs' to actually get enough people. The one I go on is promoted by the guy's model packs and asssociates.

I think that making a game is the best way to learn DBP and to promote TGC. Making a web site is a good way to learn web development.

If you make a good game, people will come to your site. With a product that generates interest, people will come.

i really enjoyed rgt when it was around. i later joined llrgt when rgt was closed and finally munkey nuts when llrgt was closed. :/

now munkey nuts is closed and josh started his own type of "indie game developers website" called coders turf. it is pretty neat, and most of the forum users from llrgt is there, so it's a really facinating place.

if you manage to get some leet people like them on coders turf that would certanly be more interesting than a forum full of wannabe dbpro'ers.

but as long as we have apollo and coders turf, i really don't see any room for a new forum. sorry.

Musashi & Cash Curtis II:- I got another thing, this forum is made with Appollo, and it didnt have that much facilities. For my forum i will use VBulletin which the most used Forum over the world, and everyone likes to post in a Vbulletin forum. This forum didnt have that much facilites, like you cant edit/delete your posts, No one can send a Private Message to user etc.

Another IDEA! i will add a chat to my forum so anyone can Discuss the DBP live . So what you guys think now, starting the forum is good or bad?

This site has chat. And you can edit your posts.

The downfall to having a common forum is that it will be more vulnerable to hackers. Apollo is not open source, therefore it is much more secure.

Hey, I've made my opinion known to you, and I guess that's just my opinion. I'll stop hounding you, but you should search my words for their truth.

Good luck

To be honest, I wouldn't recommend it, unless you actually have products to promote, I mean I started my forum with a bunch of 3D modelling tutorials, people came at the announcement and thats it really. (Minus the spammers that randomly find people's forums and post) Instead now all of my tutorials are on Ozark Games where people actually go and will see them.

Plus DBP alread has an IRC chatromm I'm afraid, I don't go there, because everytime I've been there everyone has been quiet.

Appolo is secure yeah!

But alot of people that have companies like TGC use VBulletin they didnt face any hackers etc, so how will i face?

Well generally, what I would do is if you want to attract people is.

-Have one of your own games (Offering other peoples games helps, when they don't have anyway to host)

-Have other products, texture packs, sprites, models, sound fx, music, they are all good, good sound fx and music is good, simply because less people do that.

-Tutorials, they attract people. But they need to be good enough.

Otherwise if you don't have anything valuable to offer, people will say, why go to another forum for help and advice and socialising when I can stay here and get all of that and a much larger society so I get more of it.

Apollo (please, its spelled clearly right around where you are typing your post, there is no excuse for "appolo" and "appollo") was, to my knowledge, of what I understand, of what I've seen, etc., written for this site and only used on this site (unless RD uses it on another one of his sites).

It's really impressive, IMO, and has all the functions a forum needs. Posting, Editing, Thread Creation, stupid emoticons, A user-base...

From my negative eyes, you're either going to get very few users, or a lot of users, including hackers and spammers. particularly as it's been mentioned, VBulletin is open source, so it's extremely easy to abuse once someone finds an exploit, things like obtaining the admin password, stripping you of your administrator powers, and leaving you locked out of your own forum.

But if that's what you want to do...

Farooqaaa, spend your money on something else. Spend it on something essential to making your game. THEN you can get your website, and choose an appropriate name based on your own ideas instead of just trying to copy this web site. Copies rarely amount to anything.

I'm certainly not trying to be rude, and I do wish you the best, but I for one would NEVER go to your forum, not even to check it out. There's just no reason to. I know that most people here share that sentiment.

Megaitician, sounds like a job with hefty qualifications, I think I'll need at least 2 phd's to become one

Lay a little easy, its obvious his/her first language is not English and I don't think he/she has got the drift of things.

Far, if you must have a DBP forum at least wait until you have enough to offer, the chances of you getting active members is very slim, I would wait until people become attracted to your work and then include a forum.
