Last year when my girlfriend and I drove cross-country, we went to the real Deadwood. While it isn't laid out how I thought it would be, and Swearengen's was only one floor, it was still the highlight of the trip for me. We were looking all over the place for the saloon where Wild Bill was shot, and when we found it, we took pictures of these manequins they had set up to show him getting killed. I was standing on this gold plate and when I looked down to see what it was, it was actually a memorial from Charlie Utter marking the exact spot where Wild Bill fell to the ground after being killed. So me and Sharyn took a picture of it with our feet standing over the plate... if I get my scanner working I'll post a picture of it, it was pretty cool
My only regret about going there is that (a) there were tons of spoilers all throughout the town, and (b) Sharyn made me visit a modern bar/ restaurant owned by Kevin Costner. *shudder*
