It’s called curiosity and interest. If I see someone else’s hobby, I might mail them about it and ask what’s involved and see how I could take part in an event of it or I might just discuss it with them.

I would have thought the point of this thread was obvious.

Ruccus chill out. It's none of your business whatsoever whether we care to see if anyone shares common interests with us. For example, I think it'd be cool if someone on here played ddr. Maybe I'd e-mail them and set up a ffr challenge with them over the internet. It's just for fun, no need to criticize us for it.

I like these threads, I think they add some positive socializing (well...as close as you can get considering it's the internet) to the forums.

I try to play DDR. I can only beat the songs on the lowest setting, haha. But I try, isn't that what matters? I haven't played for almost a year though.

@Xander: Just stick with it. It just takes some practice.

I feel like such a newb though. My friends and I play ddr (a lot of them at least) and they all are pretty good but I beat them. (dang I feel conceited) Anyway a few of them are really good at guitar hero and they got me into it. I'm a TOTAL N00b! So I'm been playing that like crazy, and I'm just now barely to the middle level after a couple days. We play a computer version called frets on fire, you use the keyboard and turn it upside down like a guitar and play it's really cool.

haha, that's funny. I used to play that to (although not for about a year like you) i played it so stinkin much though i was able to get an A on half of the songs on heavy

anyway, current hobbies would be:
Drums
Piano
I kept fish for about 5 years, but i think they're all dead now
oh, and paintball to, almost forgotz
um... game programming (sorry, had to be in there)

One man, one lawnmower, plenty of angry groundhogs.

- Reading Harvard Classics (reading The Republic, at the moment)
- Teasing my cat with a laser pen, unleashing my girlfriends kids on my cat, laughing at my cats misfortune
- Studying Law (finished The Quebec Legal System, this semester, so studying Psychology and Philosophy of, until next semester)

No, it's easy if you start playing with someone who already knows. And it's not fun unless you play tabletop style. It's been around for over 30 years so you have to keep the legend of written RPGs alive. But IF you can't find ANYONE to play with face-to-face, then it's fine if you play online, but you'll be missing out.

Oh man, I tried that game once and failed miserably. None of my ddr skills transferred over to it like one might think. It possibly even made it more confusing But I've seen some piu freestyle and imo, make for better freestyling than ddr. (sure there's exceptions depending on the person but it just seems to be more natural)

Cool. I'm vice president of the new game club at my school. over 30 people showed up first day (school of 500) I'm sure at least a couple know a little somethin' somethin' about it

- watching the special features on DVD boxsets
- CGI and special effects
- at the moment I'm obsessed with learning everything about Softimage XSI
- surfing the internet (too distracting)
- complaining about the games industry on public forums (like everyone else)
- videogames (been playing games since 1984 so more entitled to complain than most )
- wondering if I should do something more "active"

A lot of photographers on TGC. I used to be into it in HS but that was a long, long time ago. For me it's:

- Playing PS2 and PC games
- Watching football ("soccer"). Go Reds!
- Playing football ("soccer") with friends. We have a makeshift team and want to find another group of friends in our area who'll play against us, that would be awesome . But it's not the most popular sport where I live, unfortunately
- Doing stuff with moveon.org and other political stuff
- Gambling (esp. roulette, Hobs we should talk about Foxwoods again, would be fun to go there, especially with my birthday right around the corner, perfect excuse!)
- Making music, although lately I haven't had much time for guitar, and I don't have anywhere to play drums right now

lol, well okay....maybe, it's all good practice and i suck ATM as i've only started with it some weeks ago. Drawn five, semi-happy with just one
