A woman in Colorado is selling snow from the recent blizzards on eBay. Apparently she's doing it for a laugh, but interested parties can pick up their snow, selling at an opening bid of $0.99, using a dumptruck. But what if I want it shipped and airdropped on my city? Seriously, we haven't had ANY snow this winter. NONE, not once. It was 70 degrees outside at one point... in New York... in DECEMBER! And we've had a few minor snow flurries, but nothing has stuck to the ground. And who says global warming is fake? Anyway, if you're suffering from a lack of snowfall like we are, this online auction might be right up your alley

Interesting, we could do with some down here, the best we've got so far is frost, as if you can have a snowball fight with frost, but it hasn't been cold enough for snow yet, I was down town for 4 hours in the afternoon/evening with just an open shirt covering a long sleeve one with thin trouser and wasn't at all cold for me, chilly, but not cold.

Do you think she will ship it, I mean if its not properly contained it may melt...

Guess not:

Lol... I just looked them up on eBay... One was up to $14.80 plus shipping with over 2700 looks! Some people will buy anything I guess! That's gotta be pretty exciting when you list something as a joke and it makes it's way all around the world on various news shows and websites. Wish I could think up something like this someday

What does your local area have an abundance of? I was trying to figure this out so I could sell something silly on eBay, but I think it's against their policies to sell crappy drivers in auctions

I won't argue that global warming is fake, but we got about 6 inches of snow here in Arizona last week. It's mostly gone now though, but there's still some on the north sides of houses, etc. This is in Northern AZ, though at 5000 elevation.

Good performance is better than a good excuse.

Nor will I, but it is over exaggerated a bit, I mean the Ice Caps have such and such matter and when they melt, oh the horrors we'll be really awfully flooded, those people need reminding of Archimedes law, what you should really worry about is the ice on land (Holland will act like a bowl ) and climate change.

who owns the snow? i mean doesn't her government own the land and wouldn't the snow technically fall under the property of the local council/government?

the person still owns the land. thats the point in deeds and so forth. so it is indeed her snow, its just the government has political control over that land. she just has to follow the governments laws

No one owns it, it's like rainwater, people are free to catch and utilise it at their own will.

If rain or snow was owned by anyone, russia would probably say "YOU STOLE OUR SNOW" as they drop bombs on us? (or attempt too)

Or USA/UK dropping a bomb on Russia, saying they had weapons of mass hypothermia.

So then who's taking our money when we buy water? Now that guy had to be a genius to pull it off. Lets take the most abundantly free resource on earth and sell it!

that was the angle i was comin' from phaelax, thanks for putting it in a better word format I wonder how the law works in that respect, i mean, you can grow plants in your back yard and sell them, but could you dig up your grass and sell lots of turf? cause I'd assume you'd need permits for that. and then you have tax to worry about.

as for land you only actually own the first 6 inches of the land, in most countries they own the minerals, if found under your property. dodgy but true.

for thought: You're all forgetting one key factor in all of this... while you own the land the snow falls on, that snow does have to fall through U.S. airspace, which is government-controlled! So does that mean that the government owns the snow while it's airborne, but we steal it when it hits the ground we own? Or does that mean the government generously "donates" the snow to us? Or better still, does that mean the government is LITTERING on our property?! Ah, questions that desperately need answering!

LOL that would be a trip

"ONLY on eBay, limited time offer, buy a 16oz. bottle filled with pure, fresh New Jersey oxygen. Engulf your senses in the rich aroma of sand, cigarettes, exaust, septic tanks, and garbage trucks and treat your nostrils to the refreshing scent of body odor and human waste. New Jersey Air: Enduldge yourself today for only $14.95!"

lol I love New Jersey, that's the sad part . Maybe we could all bottle our air and sell it to New Jersians that's like a $3,000,000 idea!

Not to mention maintenance of the catchment areas and distribution channels.
