Lots of my favourites have already been mentioned, so I won't list them again apart from Memento which is just brilliant...

The Crow. The original not the numerous straight to video sequels...

Gladiator. Much as I don't like Russel Crowe I enjoyed this...

Ong Bak. Because Tony Jaa is awesome... all of you go an hire it now (if you like martial arts)...

And two of my faves from my childhood...

The Goonies. Chunk rules!!!

The Karate Kid. Crane kick, nuff' said.

The worst films I think I have ever seen are:

Snakes on a Plane - When a film is made to be intentionally horrible it has to be good.

'We need to make a barrier between us and the snakes.'

SAW I,II,III - The acting sucks, yes. But Jigsaw and his games have really pulled me in and I'm a fanboy, twisted as it may seem I even have a shirt with two chopped off fingers on it. <_<

Se7en - More grisly suspense, but arguably a better film because it had good actors and a greater sense of fear and terror. (That scene with the model ... )

Pulp Fiction - Do I even need a reason?

Night Watch - Very interesting film, some interesting ideas and it even had a good dub. o_O

Spirited Away The.best.Miyazaki.film.Ever. Howl's Moving Castle paled in comparison to the adventure of Chihiro/Sen, and the film just had a magical feeling to it.

Borat Some segments on Da Ali G show may have been better but the movie was still very well done.

Kairo - Pulse was the American version of this film, but it was toned down and not nearly as thematic as this Japanese horror film, which is very similar to the novel Cell by Stephen King (which came out later).

Ichi the Killer - It's Ichi. The Killer.

A Clockwork Orange - One of the best film adaptations I have ever seen. Really did wonders for the book and imo brought in a new audience who couldn't follow the novel.

I love all sci-fi... even the really bad B-Movies but my favorite movie genre is Post-apocalyptic. If everybody hates it... I love it.

I'm an action movie geek, but I also love comedies, documentaries and a few dramas. My list...

Die Hard: Simply put, the greatest action movie of all time, period. This is the end-all of perfect action movies. An ordinary cop pushed to extraordinary ends, locked away in a skyscraper with a 9mm pistol and no shoes facing a dozen highly-armed and skilled terrorists. I've watched this movie with my family every christmas since it was released and it's the primary tradition my family observes, something I'll do with my kids someday (when I have some that is)

Maybe I'm looking through the past with rose-coloured glasses.

Dec. 19, '97, I was working at the local theatre as an usher, and the place was mad busy for 2 months solid. Everyone and their dog went to see Titanic (ok, no dogs).

I was standing in front of the movie door checking tickets and literally had throngs of women begging, pleading, and tempting me with all manner of things trying to get through to the sold out shows.

Looking back, the movie might have been a bit silly, but could they have made it any other way? I mean, it would have seemed more like a documentary if there wasn't some kind of personal story intertwined in there. I really enjoyed it actually.

Warren Millers Cold Fusion, Storm, Steeper and Deepr, Black Diamond Rush, Freeriders and most of the others.

New World Disorder 1,2,3,5,6 (havent seen seven yet). Four was ok but that GOD DAMN STROBE EFFECT!! It pissed me off. Also there wernt too many good songs in it.

Kranked 3,4,5 (need to get 6) are the shizzle.

Pirates of the Carribian was good... have only seen sumber one.

The Alien series was dope.

If CSI (the origional one in LasVegas) counts, that is hands down the shizzle.

I dunno, personally, I think it could have been done as a proper drama, showing real-life stories of many of the people onboard, rather than focusing on two people and making it into a love story. I disliked Titanic for the same reasons I disliked Pearl Harbor... although Pearl Harbor actually forced me to demand I get my money back. If I pay $15 to see a war movie, then guess what? I DEMAND TO SEE A WAR MOVIE! Not 15 minutes of action and 3+ hours of love triangle. I want to see Japanese zeros smashing into hillsides, boats exploding, Ben Affleck's face getting shot off. Major disappointment!

Snakes on a Plane
Everybody thinks this movie sucks *shrugs*
Maybe I love it so much because of the atmosphere in the theater. I went opening night, and it was one of the best times I've ever had at a movie. Hands down. Three chicks came in dressed as a pilot, a snake, and a flight attendant and they ran around and passed out fake safety cards, threw tiny plastic snakes, and ran around the theater like they really were being attacked by the snake. Then, when Sammy (Samuel L. Jackson, for those less informed) said, "I've had it with these motherf*****g snakes on this motherf*****g plane," the whole crowd said it with him and then cheered when he did his next stupid stunt. (No spoilers here)
Now, watching it with people less enthusiastic about it as me kind of sucks, but the movie is so amazing if you actually go into it not expecting anything. It's a Napoleon Dynamite-type film where if you go in expecting something you'll be disappointed. It's a fun film and I recommend it to anyone who wants to watch a movie and have a few good laughs.

Not a big love story person, but that is fine. The movie just dragged and the dialogue was so weak I found myself thinking things like "wonder if Tide will get that stain out of the rug?". We went as a group and my wife and I kept giving each other the "oh god when will this end" look.

I don't go to the theater much anymore, generally wait for the DVD's or for the summer when the drive-in is open and our van full of people costs $20 for 2 movies. You get to bring your own snacks so no $7 small soda's, and they have a kitchen in the middle that has that awesome fried food smell you only get at the drive in.. (damn now I can't wait for the summer)

When it came out on video my wife insisted on renting it. She could only get it on tape. It came as 2 tapes. I held up the first tape and told her "This is where you get attached to all the characters."... then I held up the second tape "And this is where they all die horribly."
