Hi all,
Looking for a birthday present for my dad, like Tomb Raider (not too much shooting, more adventuring and climbing). He's completed the TR series, but what else is there? (PC, 360, or PS2).

Price of Persia Sands of Time had a lot of puzzling--- jumping, climbing, swinging, etc. Plus it should be fairly cheap now and will run in backwards compatibility mode on the 360

Soul Reaver 1 & 2 are favourites of mine... there is some combat but not too much and I think they had some good puzzles too...

Legacy of Kain, Jakk & Daxster (only Jakk2 & 3 have shooting in them), many people like Spyro.
Most film conversions seem good platformers;

Robots and Over the Hedge are both quite fun and I'd recommend them.

A game he might like if he enjoys puzzles, and the challenge is Splinter Cell Double Agent. The aim in it is to actually use you're weapons as little as possible, and use the environment to your advantage. When you couple this with some areas there is no weapon useage at all, but tasks to complete; plus some cool mini-game puzzles for certain aspects. I'd say it is definately by far one of the best 3d-action puzzle games there is.

I would also reccomend Prince of Persia, a lot of the gameplay involves a balance between fighting and exploring (Lots of jumps and running along walls etc.) and there's a bit of puzzle solving too such as pulling switches and levers and working out where to go next, I know that on the ps2 you can buy all three games (Sands of time, Warrior within and Two thrones) in a grouped trilogy. It's called "Prince of Persia Trilogy" (surprising eh?). I got it for £14 (Roughly $30) so thats three games, each costing £4.67... that's a mighty good deal if you ask me

I'm not sure about if this trilogy is on the other consoles you mentioned...

Van, write one for him, what could be better then a homemade present. Perhaps the main character could go around collecting bad neck ties in honor of years of bad presents for dear old dad.
