A long, long time ago, Bizar suggested that I design a game where the player collected mini-games by completing levels. I kind of worked on one (I even started a thread about it), but I stopped posting and the thread quickly died. Now, however, I'm back on the forums, with no intention of randomly leaving. So, here's what I have to show:

The characters

This game re-introduces Nutt in the story mode (although he is not in the demo), but it's starring role goes to Mr. Bear, a brightly colored teddy bear whose thoughts appear on-screen, and who specializes in "technical" innovations (only one is in the demo).

Everything else and stuff

It doesn't really have a plot yet, and although later on most of the mini-games will be unlockable, all the finished ones are available now. The controls are simple, but the engine was rewritten (much to Bizar's delight).

The screenshots

Yes, those are penguins.

Here's the demo:

I'd like to hear any comments anyone has!

This game looks educational, is it? I like the idea of it, reminds me of Mario Party 6 (Not sure why 6, but it does).

Thanks! The penguins are one of my favorite parts (second to the fire extinguisher)

I just started working on the story mode, but it's my main project now. It'll be a lot longer.

Thanks for all of your comments! If you have any suggestions, I'd be happy to hear them.

The demo was very fun.

I had too much fun with the ice skating place. I like to go up really high and jump all the way back down, by the time I took this pic it was lagging like crazy.

This looks completely insane, I'm gonna download it
[edit]
Yep, insane
I liked the penguin dodging the best.
The "Ice Skating" was very familiar , I remember that DB example, cool effect though with the cubes. You should have a limit to the number of cubes created because otherwise you get major lagging, enough to go really high though

Thanks for the comments, everyone!

I rendered a 6-second long intro for the game, it briefly explains what Mr. Bear is trying to do by completing the level. BTW, that's not my voice, it's my little brother's, I couldn't make mine sound high-pitched enough

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wZ6mcAXkv5I

Also, I've started on a very rough draft of the first Nutt level. Mr. Bear seems gigantic because Nutt is an acorn.

That voice is soooooooo cheesy it's actually funny, lol.

I enjoyed the game, it's total nutters. I love the thoughts.

Just so you know, first gap in story mode, if you jump over it using the extinguisher, just before you realize you won't make it, Bear will have two thoughts. Also, near the rope some thoughts seem to mess up at times.

I see you watched the video The game is all in DBC, but the video is Animation Master.

Cool game. My jaw dropped when i saw how many mini games there were! As far as i can remember, i liked the snowboarding most.
I played "story mode" first, then did some mini games, and then did story mode again. This time, whenever i got close to the rope, i was teleported to the "start" end.
Also when you fall off the edge of something (in story mode), you can get back on if you try and walk back towards the box you fell off. All in all good stuff though.

That's odd, I can't seem to replicate the "teleporting" thing. I know how to fix the second problem, though.

To everyone:

I'll have a new demo in a couple of days, with more videos, Nutt, and (hopefully) more mini-games.

I don't wish for you to take offense to this, but what makes it look educational is that it appears to have a more "kiddy" theme, and usually those are educational games. I'm not saying there's anything wrong with such a game, I'm just saying that's what I'm used to seeing.

There are some educational mario games. But mario's theme isn't very kiddy... Princess gets kid-napped, evil dinasour turtle thingy captures princess, and shoots fire at mario. Giant chain-chomps run after mario trying to eat him... Evil turtles try to kill him.... And so on.

It was surprisingly smooth and very fun! I wish the bear's moment was less ridged, but I think it's because of lack of animation that it looks bad.

Great game, okay graphics. But what do I care of graphics!

New demo!

It doesn't have the most recent video, due to the fact that I can't find anyone to voice Nutt who doesn't sound exactly like Mr. Bear, so the plot isn't explained. When the game switches from Mr. Bear to Nutt, Mr. Bear has sent Nutt to find a button that will stop the glowing that blasted him backward in the preview. When Nutt suddenly has to run, the swamp is collapsing. The game quits when Nutt finishes/dies while running.

Besides that, there's 2 more levels, and 2 more minigames, including my new favorite, long-range toilet unclogging. Also, the preview is included in the game.

KYP- are you going to keep creating mini-games for nutt and mr. bear because that would be really cool, you have an eye for the random and odd and it works out great in your game, keep it up.

Of course! The goal of the game is to collect mini-games. At least, it will be when it's finished.

Small game update

I smoothed out Mr. Bear's turns, and I decided that 2x normal speed was way too fast, so I slowed him to 1.5x, which is much better.

Rather Large Update

A new level was added, with soda, and a pause screen. Also, Mr. Bear has a plunger bazooka that he can equip in the inventory screen. Plus, I added a location... uh... text at the bottom of the screen.

Thanks! I might give a bit of code

I think I might add an area called "The Nooblands", which consists of a MS Paint-textured matrix with no terrain at all. There might be some objects with collision turned off, too.
