Hinsley Hall:
How to find us By Road
From M1 Junction 43 take the M621 continue on the M621 past the City Centre exit and on to Junction 2, turn right At the Armley gyratory follow York sign onto inner Ring Road, A58(M) for 1 mile. Turn first left after the tunnel A660, follow Skipton signs past Leeds University for one and a half miles, turn right at Oakfield, Hinsley Hall is straight ahead.
From M62 Leave M62 at junction 27, follow M621 to junction 2, directions as above from M1.

From York and East Follow A64 and continue onto A64(M) turn off at A660 and follow instructions as above.

From Skipton Follow A660 through Headingley, Oakfield and Hinsley Hall will be located on left one third of a mile past North Lane traffic lights

By Public Transport
Hinsley Hall is approx. 2 miles from Leeds Station by Taxi or Headingley/Cookridge Buses from City Square.

By Air
Leeds & Bradford
Hinsley Hall is only approx 6 miles from the Airport

It's not too late to book. Email michelle @ devink.co.uk and she can send you a Google Checkout request. At this stage, full payment is preferable but let her know what you would like to do in the mail.

There are still rooms too, and the full option includes all of your meals from Friday Evening to Sunday lunch.

Just sent an email to Mrs. B asking for the google link. I'm now going to cough up the balance owed.

So, yes, I'm definitely coming ... what sort of convention would it be without my unique brand of stupid questions?

No-one has asked for a talk on any sort of legal topic this year so it looks like I'm off the hook. I'll be focusing my attention on drinking alcohol and trying to get up later than Lee.

BTW - if you are wondering why the forums have been a cartoon bear free zone for a while, the answer is that all kinds of interesting and fun things are happening in my life. Not much chance for programming/posting.

Apart from IanM, no-one has asked for a talk on any sort of legal topic this year so it looks like I'm off the hook.

BatVink, I haven't detected any real interest nor does anyone seem to have any particular subject that they want to hear about. So I'm not proposing to speak (thus breaking the pattern of the past three Conferences).

I will happily speak if:

1. enough people express an interest; and

2. there is a DBPro/hobbyist game creating legal topic that people want to hear about.

I hope we are doing a coding compo again this year. Last year I almost won - out of 6 entries I came 6th (but I was biding my time and lulling everyone into a false sense of security).

I think the use of patents to protect computer software is almost as silly as their use to protect parts of DNA. Copyright is the correct way to protect software imho. Happy to discuss during the Con over a few beers.

Yes, I'd like to add my voice to the "please can we have a coding compo" chorus. I thoroughly enjoy demonstrating my abject lack of coding talent in front of plenty of people.

Btw - sorry I am still mostly AWOL from the forums. All my time that is not being devoted to the girlfriend is being devoted to a fairly large life changing career decision that I am in the process of taking.

And, no, it does not involve the import/export of large jugs of orange juice.

I thought it would be worth bringing attention to the fact that National Express run services to Leeds from all over the country and that if you book in advance you can get one of their "funfare" prices.

For me this means I can get a return ticket to Leeds for just £2 (£1 each way)

Worth a look, for your coach needs. You can print your ticket out yourself to save on postage
