This is a new competition that will happen monthly. Anyone can enter; This month because of confusion, You can have as many entries as you like; but can only win one prize. Each model will be judged indivudually; so you are graded on quality not quantity.

You cannot enter something that you have released before.
All media that enters this comp will be put in a free community pack. So don't post something your ganna want to sell later.

This Months Theme is:
modern day wall objects

The winner cannot compete in next months comp; but chooses the next theme. The winner also has a choice to host the next comp and will be one of the next comps judge too.

Each month there will be 5 different judges. Judges cannot compete; but can compete in the next month. You cannot judge 2 months in a row.

This months judges are:
-Tyrano ()
-Loc
-MonT
-KeithC
-wizard of id

1) Game Efficency (Collision; polys)
2) Overall In Game Appearance (modeling, texturing)
3) Texture Quality (how good the texture is)
4) If it fits the theme.

Prizes:
there will be prizes for the 3 best entries. 1st place chooses any prize 1st. 2nd place choose on of the other prizes. 3rd place chooses the a prize out of whats left.

Prize list:
-Loc's custom charachter connected to the FPSC biped.
-MonT's custom charachter connected to the FPSC biped.

That's the texture...it's the gauge you see on fire extinguishers that tells you how much firefighting juice you have left.
I think Keith locked the old thread.

haha I like your cafeteria "sing".

Looks like there's a constant flow of some kind of effect applied to the image, like a glassy, indented rain.

Well hopefully theres enough entries to keep this alive.

I'm not posting but, I'm watching guys. I don't want to give any criticisms to alert people to what I'd be looking for in a model and texture.

I'm watchin the entries though

Keep um coming

i figured id throw this item in.. i could use a custom charecter...

its a wall axe, ive got 2 textures, 1 bloody and 1 regular, and i have 4 entitys, 2 of the wall items for the contest(one for each texture) and 2 dynamic prop models...

Heres the bloody axe:

Heres the regular axe:

Kwl Bullshock; But you said about all your entries; which reminded me of something.

Because I fergot to post it here; but i posted it in the other thread; that you could only have one entry per person. maybe I should just let people have as many entries as they want; as I haven't posted that on here and its been over a week.

so this is a new rule:
You can have as many entries as you like; but can only win one prize. Each model will be judged indivudually; so you are graded on quality not quantity.

its only one model...just 2 different textures, and i included a dynamic prop entity for each texture for conveniance...i only entered the wall axe into the competition.

anyway, i guess thats an ok rule...but its up to you.

Next month i'll add in only one entry rule; but because I left it so late it's not fair; incase some people have been slaving over their comp making multiple entries; I don't want to have wasted their time

I'd post my model (It would be my first ever proper model) But I cant texture

I'm learning(very slowly) how to texture as we speak.

But if anyone would like to texture it please e-mail me and If I won I'd split the prize with you.

Thanks,
Dup

They're FPSC screenies so it's all good.
For the record...I misread the end of the contest date.I thought it was March 30th.
While I busted my tail making and texturing this model I made the texturing could be a little better...I could touch it up.
Also I can now offer the model for commercial use as well so I can change the license so I might do that.
I will say I think I did a good job on the model. It is made up of 8 different parts and then put together and it is still low poly.
If people want I can also make a stand alone version that sits on a table, floor or whatever.
I am also working on making this a weapon but I am having decal issues at the moment.
Once I work those out making this a weapon will be a piece of cake...I hope.

I'm sure we'll be judging all the latest entries. Some are showing Wips in here. They still got allot of time to tweak the final versions.

industrial fan.

i was going to release all the fans in this thread but
seeing how there is 6 fans now and 10 walls (lol) the judges would go mad trying to judge all of that ,
so for the competition i am entering this one .the rest of the set will come out in a few days .
texture was made in paint shop pro used inner and outer beveling .
milkshape to make the model
340 polys on the fan

video
http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v685/domray/FINWORK/?action=view¤t=Movie.flv

btw nice work all and it is good to see more people enter.
