Every one I can only apologise for the delay the reason I haven’t uploaded yet are the fallows

1) I'm just not happy with the game as it is at the moment I was ready to release it then I played it though and I realised it was lacking several feature I wanted to put in the game like a life bar and Sam having post traumatic stress affecting the game you know like hearing old war sound effect that sort of thing.

2) Bio shock I just brought the game and I can't stop playing it.

3) Work it hard to fit the game making in between earning a living.
Well enough excuses I will try and get it done soon I’m sorry to disappoint again hope this screen shot will make the waiting a little easier

Hehe, well, if there's one game that's allowed to distract people, it's BioShock! I finished it yesterday. One bit in particular is pure genius. The idea of post-traumatic-stress is also interesting: it would fit well into a lovecraftian game.

We have something similar in the mid-game of "Anderson", between chappter 6 and 9, where traumatas enabled "Madness", causing you both dealing and taking more damage while being able to suck blood & brain from dead bodies in order to regain life...

Ooh ooh ooh, want it want it want it!

When I've played it I'll give you another fairly in-depth review like I did with the other ones.

Also, I'm making my own Cthulhu mythos inspired game, but it's a text-adventure. (However, this means it's much quicker to make! I'm already at the end of Chapter 1, and there are only about 4 chapters. And, I've only been doing it for a week!)

But good work Small fish, you've really kept at it again!

Dang, hang in there small fish! When it's done I shall set aside time to play, enjoy and review. Looking forward to it immensely!

On a side note
*****BLATANT PROFITLESS ADVERTISING!*****
the thread for my text adventure is http://forum.thegamecreators.com/?m=forum_view&t=115287&b=8
I'm rather hoping it won't sink helplessly into the whirling, miasmal depths of the never-visited threads... and chapter 2 has actually been written, I just want to add some new features.
*****END SHAMELESS ADVERTISING!!!*****

Good luck with getting the episode out small fish, I'm sure it'll get done eventually!

Also I've decided that when I get this game finished I'm going take a break from making games for a few months because I really want to learn how to make my own animated characters and weapons I'm feed up always using the same cultist models and I really want to put some proper cthulhu mythos monsters in there so I will spend that time reading tuts and stuff like that I really want toc4 to be much better technically that the first 3 games

Woo, downloading now! I think it's a great idea to switch your focus from making ToC4 to boosting your background skills in the area - in the long run, I'm sure it would make these games even better! And, of course, the sooner we get tentacles-creatures the better!

Also, Chapter 2 of my text-adventure is done. And, on a REALLY off-topic note, how do you make it so your sig is a clickable banner?

here is the new fliefront link.
http://files.filefront.com/toc3rar/;8717122;/fileinfo.html

Played the third chapter and loving it. I'm in the temple now and possibly near the end. Haveing trouble with one room (the one with a deepone and the hound). The speed in this one is dramaticly better, and I have to say you have outshined yourself on this one. The music in the temple fits so well. Bravo, I just hope I can make it to the end. The introduction of exploding missile enemies is a challenge I must say. Can't wait to see what part4 will be like.

EDIT-@ Ertlov- Most definitely!

SPOILERS AHOY!

Just played it and it's really good! As Disturbing13 said, it's even better than the first two: there are very few slowdowns, and the ones that are there last for a few seconds at most. As always, the gameplay is good: removing the crosshair really makes it all the more difficult and more important to aim. The new enemies really are a challenge: the green ones are pretty difficult from a distance, since you have to dodge the exploding projectiles, but they're fairly easy up close. The hounds, however, are devious: you can't stay too far away because you'll miss, but you can't get too close or you'll get hurt. It's nice to see evil monsters at last, and the way you've implemented them works really well.

In places, particularly the cutscene with the skull-faced purple-robed guy, and the one where you meet Philip at last, the speech is a little too quiet, especially when the purple-robed guy speaks. The voice is creepy, but with that background noise going on it's difficult to make out what he's saying. Also, although this is really minor, the guns and ammo floating around (a FPSC thing, I know) was, while not distracting, perhaps a bit out of place.

But everything else was great: the ship felt like a real ship with the foam spewing across the portholes, which was quite a feat. I also liked how the main character agonizes over killing the enemies: we, as FPS players, have become more relaxed about killing than the characters would be! It also reminded everyone that this was a different character from the ones you played as in the first two chapters. And the temple level was excellently done: the corpses of people who were just like you, trying to fight their way out, and the music and the overall design and enemies - well, it was very immersive. And I loved the Cthulhu statue!

END SPOILERS

I'm not actually a Kiwi, I just randomly thought it up one day.

So true. that is what makes this genre so different, there are rarely heroes, only survivors...and that's if you call gibbering in a rubberroom strapped into a straitjacket surviving.

Quote: "It also reminded everyone that this was a different character from the ones you played as in the first two chapters."

accually Sam is from the last game. The first game had the different character, wich sam meets up with in this game. Just trying to quell the cofusion.

yes yes YES I was afraid that you wouldn’t like this one as much as the others got to say hearing your praise really makes all the work worth it thanks a ton everyone I think one of the main reasons I want to improve my modelling skills is that I really want to get some of the stuff my sister draws in the game and I want to get on that best of the best tread

Quote: "accually Sam is from the last game. The first game had the different character, wich sam meets up with in this game. Just trying to quell the cofusion. "

Sam was in the second one, but he didn't actually kill anyone: he just listened to the Asylum inmate's story, so the player was the inmate for most of the time. (So, in essence, the "main" character for the 2nd episode was the inmate, and Sam was sort of peripheral, I guess.) Thanks for making my mind clearer, though.

Quote: "and that's if you call gibbering in a rubberroom strapped into a straitjacket surviving."

Ah yes, that's what I love about this genre. It's so horrifying, and in essence it's so amoral: Good and Evil become insignificant when viewed from the perspective of an all-powerful outer God.

Quote: "one of the main reasons I want to improve my modelling skills is that I really want to get some of the stuff my sister draws in the game and I want to get on that best of the best tread "

Like I said before, I'm sure your idea for learning more about modeling and other more media-related skills will really make this even better than it is now. I'd love to fight something with tentacles on its face, hehe. On a side note, were the green impish enemies and the yellow dog-things made by you, or taken from stock media? Also, just to bombard you with questions and suggestions, will there be more of the Other-world (or whatever the green corridors are called)? This installment didn't really suffer from a lack of it since it had post-traumatic-stress flashes and stuff, but it would be nice to visit there again, maybe discover that it's some horrifying city or something.
And thanks for posting on my thread, it's like it's a keepy-uppy challenge to stop it sinking too low! And that trailer sounds good - should be good to watch.

first the monster where not mine the pit crawler (little dog thing) was by rolfy and the alien (green man that ment to look like a deep one) was by Locrian I think I could be wrong both are great models and both can be downloaded of the forum for free as for Other-World as you call it you will be seeing a lot more of that in the future it's very important to the plot

You know your right. You played as Sam up till he talked with Jeckson, and all the action was with Jeckson. So I stand corrected. been a while since I played it.

@small fish- no prob about the mirror, it well deserves it. Your sisters art is insanely great and I sincerely hope you gather the skill to bring her creations to life.

Once again, I had a great time playing another Tale of Cthulhu. Good Job, small fish, your storytelling is superb!

I think all 3 of these games rock and if you could make the menu look a bit better on this one it should be a botb for sure.

Your game looks great, small fish!

I like your CD cover design. Your sister's art is unique! I did notice some errors on the back cover, though. Ignore the next paragraph if it is too late to change it. I realise most players won't be English critics but a marketer will take your game more seriously if there are less mistakes.

a (before the word journey) should be lower case,
g (in gruesome) should be lower case,
insert a comma (,) after cults,
the T in The (after cults) should be lower case,
insert a period (.) after Mythos,
insert commas (,) around "private investigator",
change "will send" to "sends",
change "a ancient" to "an ancient",
change "tome" to "tomb",
insert a (.) or (!) after "worse"

These are only suggestions which are given in the spirit of wanting to help.

No matter where you go, there you are.
