Indeed, i would rather they released a decent, updatable multiplayer in a few months time, than release it at all...

X10 is looking good. Now I just need the $700.00 for the floor model PC that will run X10. I double checked all the machine stats and they will add the vid card for 25% off. Can't beat that. Now all I have to do is get the $700.00 to buy it.

Yeah! Right!

Well Multiplayer has become something different it's like 1 player needs to be perfect or else like halo or no one will care, but someone can create a mild multiplayer game and millions play it take like warrok, WOW and ahh....can't think of any other but those are all games that look low-poly and it's amazing how many people play them!

Hi,

The same multiplayer stuff in X9 will be in X10. No plans to do any more than that but we'll see.

FPSC still uses ODE and due to a lot of optimisations the results are far better than X9.

I'm putting on the riot gear...People have been raising cain for a long time about improvements and additional features to multiplayer.
I think we were all expecting some improvements and added features for multiplayer (for instance...more than just the deathmatch mode).
Since there are no plans to do anything with multiplayer I am going to release the latest beta of my multiplayer game and I am done with it.I'll go back to working on my single player game and hope that sooner or later there is an update for x9.

Yeah I was contemplating getting X10 actually, but without multiplayer updated i'm just not going to.

I think not updating the multiplayer for X10 is one of the worst choices TGC have made.

they were going to have co op CTF and TDM in the first FPSC but left it out cause of time constraints Come on TGC take all the time you want but please implement at least TDM you will get a lot more sales and happy customers that way,

Ok,awsome. As long as its faster and behaves a little more realistic I'm fine with it. Actually,I'd be fine with it no matter what.

I'm not saying MP will not get an update after we release X10. It's just not the main focus for X10 in it's first incarnation. Clearly it's an area that is calling out for more features and we will in the future review it.

Made me upset

TGM underestimates multiplayer, in most cases it can be more fun than SP.

I beg you to reconsidor updating x10 with a better MP.

Bond give that zombie both shoes or both bare feet, it will look odd in a game if every fat zombie you come to has the same shoe missing, or you have a room full of them all missing the same shoe, its Ok for one character that one doesn't see again ever, but you see a character many times, so the one shoe thing does not work at all.

Personally id add the other shoe, he has a tech thing on his head but is daft enough to lose his shoe, its a bit of a contradiction, it doesn't work, so its best to give him his other shoe.

Also , if he has his other shoe he can be skinned with more options by users, but at the moment he can only be a kind of tramp figure, this guy can be skinned lots of ways if he has his other shoe, rather than the absent minded goon he looks with one shoe missing. I cant be too afraid of a guy with a shoe missing, he cant be that effective if he cant remember to put it on, please give him it back, I dont want to see this character wasted as a novelty figure.

Well the character has been signed off on and delivered. Personally I like the missing shoe, it's visually interesting. I like to think the tech-thing on the head was forcibly implanted there, to make him a mindless goon, with ONLY one thing on his mind, to get you!

That said, you could easily retexture the bare foot to resemble a shoe. Believe it or not, the feet are roughly the same size. And the only reason the bare foot looks like a bare foot is because of the normal map! The foot is basically a box, the toes are completely normal mapped.
Yes, I'm that good. And modest too.

You would have to alter 2 textures, first the normal map, and also the diffuse map.

ahh thats a relief it can be converted, did you make the normal map from a higher poly model or from a greyscale that you turned into a normal map.

I made it from a high poly in Mudbox. I try and avoid relying on the grayscale conversion thing except where it's just not practical to model in high poly.

Wouldn't mind seeing your poly mesh for the game model and the high poly one used for the normal map.

Crazy bump I believe just incorporated a tool to blend normal maps together so I guess one could perhaps edit this model, not something I have tried yet.

unless one can load the base model into zbrush or mudbox type software and have the normal map effect the base mesh and then work into the mesh in these programs perhaps, haven't got into these new sculpting programs yet, my work load is just to hectic at present.

Can't really show the entire high poly because it was made in chunks, my computer can't handle the entire high poly model in real-time. Instead here is a picture of the low-poly, and the normal-mapped version. I think you get the idea. Even the teeth are normal mapped, look close!

Thanks for the image, the normal map really adds the extra details, Im suprised how much detail a low poly with the addition of a normal map can handle.

There have been too many issues which needed Lee's attention. Once we have done our bug bashing I'll do a video. For now we're getting our heads down and making this thing stable.
