Yah, I changed my old avatar because people were confusing VanB and myself. He's been a member here much longer than me

LOL you made me download that 3 times, as I read down I got the first one, then the second over the first because I thought it was fixed, and then the first again because of the correction. Geez!
@jeku
heh, you change your avatar a ton.

Make your comics able to understand by anybody. For those of us who dont have xboxes we dont get it. Make fun of vista... everybody would get that.

I agree with you Pus. I don't mind criticizm either, but when people like Cash, Jerico and the others come along and post immaturely it just ruins everything.

Some people need to learn to grow up.

I think all the regulars here will agree that the two people you just labeled as immature and in need of growing up are far above you on any kind of internet food chain.

Don't care, throwin' ya into the same "Folk who can't take criticism" bunch, along with anyone else who whines when people don't like them.

@Uncle Sam, you and I must not be reading the same forum if you think cash has been posting immaturely here.
Please quote said immatureness.

@Pus In Boots, I can tell you've been listening to crit somewhat from the comics you post, and from the pic in your other thread.

I also agree with Aikicat.

Edit: keep working, you'll get to where you're going.

Cash wasn't mean, just blunt. Jerico however was.

I'd say work on the comedy aspect first before you start tightening the visuals.

Yes I was mean, so what? I made valid points that everyone else (except Cash) sidelined up to that point because they were too afraid to tell it honestly (or have no taste).

The only difference was that Data chose to take it personally (I don't know why he felt the need to even though Pus wasn't that offended), which is why you now think I'm mean. I never meant it personally But my opinion was well founded, as multiple people have agreed in this thread.

So please, save your comments about my temperament for some other thread, I wasn't out of line on this one.

Oh, and the comment I made that he should feel bad was a joke. (After that blogger who ripped on popular web-comics, which you should be aware of if you're into web-comics at all.) Get over yourselves

You are mistaking cruelty for straightforwardness. You pride yourself in your "temperament" because you think its the same as outspokenness, when in reality it's a flaw, a lack of a quality.

Let me be the first to point out that "Get over yourselves" is not a catch-all statement that can be used as a rebuttal in any situation. Here it makes no sense.

My only rude comment was to DrewG, but it was relevant to the post he made. Besides, I talk to him quite a bit over IM, so it was more of a friendly jab. Did anyone notice he wasn't offended?

Please Uncle Sam, qualify your statement. Show me where I've gone wrong in regard to this thread and its comics. Show me where I've been immature with my criticisms. If you can't then making a comment like that is just stupid and offensive.

Jerico's not the bad guy in this. Looking past the 'you should be ashamed of yourself' bit, (which was apparently a joke anyway) his advice and honest critisisms have been not only helpful to me, but truly awakened me to the comics' flaws and helped me improve.

Cash Curtis, you're skimming past the 'your mum' comment. I'm not gonna go on a witch hunt with this, but I remind you that that was immature and mean. No excuse.

Although there was nothing wrong with your critisisms. (as far as I can remember.)

"Your mum" is not a comment made on a personal level, and it clearly wasn't meant to be taken as such, as is always the case.

Seriously.

It's just one of those things that was funny some time ago when used in innuendo or as an answer to an awkward or dumb question. Or, a question that then becomes innuendo-centred following the use of the phrase.

In the given context, and indeed in any context, the term aims to be random and humorously alleviating. If he said something more than just "your mum", maybe then you might take offence.

It's not worth holding against him. For someone who's supposed to be making comics that ooze fun, you're not very fun.

Give me an ounce of irony, good apothecary, to sweeten my imagination.

Your probably right, I guess. It just came across as a bitter comment in my head. Again, it's hard to determine context when everything is typed up. Anyway, I never wanted to make a thing of this, but someone said my 'verbal abuse' comment seemed unjustified, so I explained it to them.

I beg to differ. But I didn't see the 'fun' in this. That's all.

AAANYWAAAY!!! Let's just end this.

You're actually serious, aren't you? Monocoder pegged the context of that comment exactly. I know nothing about your 'mum'. You don't have much of a sense of humor if that offended you. It's a common, random joke that's funny if it's used at the right time.

Cash, I agree. But at the time and in the context I interpreted from your previous attitude, it just seemed like you were trying to be mean or insulting. Didn't seem like a 'your momma' type thing. I misjudged. So I'm sorry.

Now let's try and get along, eh?

Lets just say this thread is an example of how hard humor and sarcasm can be to convey on the internet. For example, I understand Pus' interpretation of the 'your mum'-'joke' (which I do not find funny at all, by the way) - that type of joke is so old I barely believe someone would use it in a non-insulting way nowadays.

Humor is personal. I got several of Pus' jokes and I liked the XBOX one too. Why should humor appeal to anyone? Even xkcd doesn't appeal to all readers, even though most readers have a background in computers... for example, how would anyone not using the command know what 'sudo get me a drink' means?

Except for the thing with the coast guard joke, which was taken FAR out of proportions by a certain person, everyone here has been acting maturely and I have to applaud Pus in Boots for his determination and replies. Don't get so defensive, keep taking the critics to heart and keep improving! It's going the right way .

Sorry for taking this one up again, lets get back ontopic. My apologies.

If it wasn't far out of proportions, I assume you got that noobslap for a totally unrelated reason?

Oh you mean you can have personal objections to something, but I can't? I object against someone going so haywire about a normal joke - one that (out of several) was declared the best one among these.

If you took me getting offended personal, then you have problems that need psychiatric help.

But I had a reason.

I wasn't just saying "Well I got offended at you getting offended omg wtf".

Besides, I didn't know he was just referring to Life Guards.

Yeah, I really should make these things clearer.

But anyway, I can see why you got so mad about it, although I still think that response was a bit- well, not amazing, but slightly more... I dunno, terrible?

But let's just let by-gones be by-gones. I'm getting tired of all the conflict on this thread.

And be sure to check up on Robo. I'm determined to win you over.

G'day y'all! I just thought I'd pervert your foruming with several paragraphs of crap. So, I've been planning a graphic novel (and I use that term loosely) and I was wondering if you'd know of any good tutorials out there.

As for the comic itself, I can promise you that it will be unlike all the crappy crap you've had the pleasure of crapping on so far. The artwork is having a lot of thought put into it (but more on that later) and it will all be hand-drawn. The story is about a group of elderly people caught in the clutches of crooked retirement home nurses. All day, they are forced to play scrabble and wait for their grandchildren to call and failure to conform results in brutal punishment. But every night, they sneak out of the home and hit the town and relive their youth. But breaking free from their tormentors won't be that easy.

Anyway, if you know any good tutorials (or acn provide your own) then please do. I want to make sure everything is up to scratch.

If it feels good, it's a sin.
