Well, the whole view angle being indepent of where you moved was confusig at first because I was used to the Halo style "point and move" style of vehicle control.....

When you are done with this project, I recommend e-mailing a publisher the game and sell it for some moolah.

That's just purely awesome. The ONLY thing I don't like, that you can't control, is that the water is so flat at the edges.

I'm glad you guys like.I don't think I will be selling it.I have contacted Pcformat again and will be doing if they allow a episodic release in X10.

So yeah once that is done I should have picked up enough skills to do a commercial game.

I got a mail back today from PCformat and they are willing to add the game to their cover disk which is good news.I have arrange it in such away that it's in a episodic release for the next 12 months instead of a once off release.

Don't forget you can't use efxMod Free Edition for commercial games... you'd have to get a commercial license, first (but those are still not available)

Didn't you all see the efxMod Free Edition watermark at the bottom-right?

@Nighthawk

I have no intention of using EFXmod at all I basically use it to test in X9 that all new segments are working correctly before exporting to X10 this means I don't have to boot to Vista when segment development is done in XP...

I don't think I will use EFXmod free or commercial.

I had problems with exporting segments to work with X10.
They were very basic and they worked fine in X9.

I think it would be better to just use X10 when making your game.
Before you finished your game and try to export it to X10 and knowing that there are some bugs that didnt occured in X9.
Just trying to help.

But new screenies look nice!

Yip sad as it my seem I'm not prepared to pay for EFX when every thing can be done with X10.How much is this guy's mod going to be $20 $30 $50.????

I think not your better off with X10 if your rig is vista and X10 ready.....

I'm sure when V2 of X9 comes along some one will mod the source to allow water and whatever shader free of charge. If not upgrade to X10.

No offense nighthawk as good as your mod might be it's not worth it for me...

Your comment completely put me off the free edition and have since removed it and will never use it again. No one needs a watchdog.

Peace out.

So yeah guys so with that little rant out of the way I have compiled the first episode today just some minor testing and tweaking of AI values, water levels light mapping and I be shipping it off to PCF HQ.

Dude you still don't get it.I am not making any money from this venture.I am giving it to them for free. The only reason why I'm doing it is for some exposure and when the time comes I can go to publishers and say hey you know what I ran a project for the last 12 months on the cover CD of PCFormat.

So please point where is the breach in EULA ? TGC couldn't give a damn since as along as I put the "made with FPSCREATOR X10"

I agree with Wizard of Id, this looks really pro now, especially for an fpsc game.
Somehow this project got the best of me when you dropped efx.
Looking to see more man
No offence to Nighthawk of course.
EDIT:
Even if I do think that dropping efx will loose your graphical effect.

Lol !!!!!

There is a lot of confusion. No I'm not using X9 at all.I use X9 to test segments having to boot between XP and Vista is a pain.My modeling software doesn't work in vista as well as FPSC segment creator and entity creator so rather than using a plain FPSC I decided
to use EFXmod. I can then get a picture more or less what it would look like in X10.I can then make adjustments as needed without having
to boot to Vista.

There was a remarked made that not every thing works in X10.Well I have to agree not every thing works like intended. However Once a segment or entity doesn't work like it should in X10 you can make the adjustments as needed.

I have so far imported a few things into X10 busy testing the round segments with shaders....So next few days is all about importing and applying shaders...

I must say the falls look pretty...the specular might need a tad more adjustment

Looks good Wiz. The only thing that catches my eye is the half wall above the staircase. Maybe it's because we all know it well; but it seems out of place with everything else.

Got around to making some segments. If you don't know yet or missed it I said that I was going to take FPSC 4x4 rooms to the next level and that I want to build a huge library of reusable segments...

Second screenie what I would like to call the broken wall this is the first version so I might keep it or edited it a wee bit but there will be a few versions for the really dirty bombed out look.

BTW these are all punch segments which makes life easy and works 100% in X10.

Well being a few days since I have updated my W.I.P.

I don't have a fixed theme that I follow so if I feel like making some sci-fi segments or sewer or whatever I do so.

So this week and I think for a few days maybe weeks I'll make scifi stuff.

So yeah
These aren't final yet and still needs proper textures mapping and textures.

They are not high poly models between 800 to 200.I like the floor segment it cuts across two floor segments it does require CSG and can be used for both the floor and ceiling next on my list are wall furn segments similar but different to the floor segment is the screenie .

Will upload some final segments screenies when texture maps and every thing else is done

I'm in love Wizard.
By the way... I don't think anyone should try to stir
trouble here. I believe you'll stay true to your word
and not make a penny from the first versions.

I'm giving them the game for free legally they are not allowed to charge consumers for the disk only for the disk it self so there is not breach what so ever.

I made another new segment.I think I'll make a few more windows type segments one with shutters in a few positions have tried a few combo's which didn't work as intended but here is one that did work..

I like the skew look pity that it doesn't work in X10 yet (the window)
