Unfortunately, google ads have not been updated: (on same page as that article)

You beat me to it!

I wonder if his (it was a he right?) body will decompose, or if he'll always look like the living dead forever.

No, but it all reality, he was a talent guy that changed the music industry forever. Just couldn't resist the jokes. Too soon?

I hope you get banned for this comment.

Anyway, I don't believe it just yet. Everyone seems to be getting this from one particular website, whereas other sources are reporting him as in a coma.

He is as innocent as OJ.

I like some of his songs, but I think Iran coverage is more important in today's news.

Remember how much publicity Jade goody got for dieing? I could not believe news channels actualy took live footage of her body being carried. Well actually with all the amazing and wonderful things she did for the homeless and the children in africa she really deserved it......*serious sarcasm*

He had good music and I do consider him "The Kind of Pop" but I do believe he was guilty for child molestation. Opinions are opinions I guess.

I never bought into that thing about him being a child molester, but out of respect I don't think we should bring that up anyway now. There's no debate that he did make a lot of great music, and I'll remember him for making my younger days a bit more lively in that department.

Well, if it's anything like the Anna Nicole Smith death, it will be the front page new story for at least another two to three months.

Look on the Fox News website. Right on the front page it says "Michael Jackson is Dead" without the quotes.

I think I'll stop reading this thread now. Loss of human life upsets me too much.

It doesn't matter how controversial he was, and it doesn't matter whether you liked his music or not. He was an integrated part of our culture, and now that he's dead it has a big impact. Our whole culture has changed a little now.

And BTW, CNN has confirmed it.

I suppose I shouldn't criticize a particular artist just because I don't like the musical genre.

Why not today?

What do Micheal Jackson and K-Mart have in common?

(note: K-Mart is a a large retail store chain in America)

Now I'm really confused. What do a British TV show character, yet more North Korean bomb threats, and K-Mart have to do with Michael Jackson?

My point (while trying not to be insensitive) is that there are more important things in the news then yet another death... at least in my opinion.

He was an artist and will be missed, but we get nowhere holding our heads down.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that there are gonna be quite a few more deaths to come... call me psychic.

And once again, I don't mean to come across as insensitive. Just a realization.

Unless you've not read the news in a million years you'd notice they report almost all celebrity deaths, especially the major ones. Due to MJ's astronomical success in the past it should be completely obvious why his death is so important. It's not like news outlets publish deaths of any random person unless it's some type of massacre because likely not people knew them so it would be pointless.

Anyway it's a shame he died, and that the years leading up to his death were plagued by accusations of child abuse.

I do notice that. And to me there's almost always something more important going on, whether it be natural disasters, or war. I dunno, I guess i kinda feel like the media just kinda prioritizes in ways that I don't agree, but that is only my opinion. If it were the more popular opinion obviously it would be that way

Quote: "Anyway it's a shame he died, and that the years leading up to his death were plagued by accusations of child abuse."

I deeply agree with that, and was kinda baffled that pretty much any news broadcast that showed that story(pretty much all of them ) kept bringing that up... I found that as fairly disrespectful-- especially so soon.

Well, at least his suffering is over. Imagine living your life under the public eye from just six years or so of age (or what age he started singing with the Jackson Five). From what I've read, he's had very little time to himself at that young age (and maybe most of his life). R.I.P.M.J.
