Notice how my best example was Far Cry, which is in no way shape or form Source.

The disc won't play. The freaking disc won't play in my 360.

I played like 5 levels, and in the middle of the 6th the 360 said the disc was unreadable. so i returned it, got a new one, and this one also doesn't work. Apparently there is a big problem with older 360's.

Inspire, this happened to me at one point. As weird as this is, try loading the disc when you are logged out of your gamer profile and log back in once it loads up.

This worked for me and hasn't been an issue since. I saw it online somewhere.

Good game, 22 hours on multiplayer 8 hours on story and OP missions.(Story is great! OPs could have been better.)

I liked ops. Its good to play with someone on split screen on the PS3 cause you can get very tactical. The singleplayer has a good story line until it gets rediculas when price detonates a nuke above washington....

That's beside the point. You seem to be mentioning a Source game in every single one of your posts.

Also, have you actually played it yet? And please, PLEASE don't say 'I don't plan on doing so' because it invalidates your arguments totally, until you actually play it. You simply cannot judge a game before you play it.

So, I played XBox Live for the very first time today. I got it working by stretching a 5' long ethernet cable from my router to my XBox 360. The 360 was rigged up between the door frame and the door for maximum reach because I was having a hard time getting it hooked up to a TV. So, I get it set up. I spend ~30 minutes creating a profile, start up MW2, and my little sister of 3 comes through the door. Of course I tell her to get out of my room, and so she does. But mimicking what she sees on her cartoon shows, she acts mad, crosses her arms, and slams the 360 (with MW2 inside) in the door. I hear a 'Bzzt' noise and my heart drops. Instantly my screen goes to the 'Disc Unreadable' screen and I nearly pass out with rage. So I took the disc out and, there it was, an undeniable circle right on the back. So, heartbroken, I ask my mother for some extra money to buy another (the receipt was gone) and she denied me. Says it's my fault and I shouldn't have had the 360 between the door.

Now I'm out $60, Modern Warfare 2, and still need another $60. I guess I'll just make due with CoD4 for the time being.

HappyCheez is my gamertag if anybody wants to add me, by the way.

Just finished the campaign! And I have to say it's one of the most cinematic games I've played in a long time! I really enjoyed it!

Just wish I had played Cod:4 first!

Arenasi left those parts out in case someone that hasn't finished the game reads this, we don't want to spoil it for them now do we?
Maybe put those revealing parts in code snippets?

Multiplayer sucks. Single player was great though. I loved every damn minute of the campaign, except for the one with all the restaurants when you play as the rangers, that was kinda dumb (RAMIREZ! Washington is under attack, we gotta defend the Burger Town!). But multiplayer is dumb.

Blame Truth wrote a good article that makes sense.

And that was what, a day or less after the game was released? I reckon my opinion would change after three months of playing it and after being tired of all the nuke boosters and ridiculously overpowered guns in the later levels.

If everybody has an overpowered gun, then all of a sudden nobody has an advantage, and it becomes much more about how you use that gun and how you move around. There's no weapon in the game that you would actually be forced to use that is 'underpowered'.

Having said that, pretty much nothing unlocked at a *later* level is overpowered. Can you give some examples of guns or perks that really give someone a huge advantage?

Every LMG. I hate those guys. They stand and spray and then think there incredible when they get a kill when they are NOT. They are just campers with effectively a turret gun spraying at everyone they see. Its easy to kill them, i just get annoyed every now and then when they kill me... AND then they say things like incredibe and awsome/skilled...

If it's easy to kill them, then that's proof that it's not overpowered. But yeah, plenty of people don't use the LMG's like they're supposed to. Luckily like you said, they're easy to take down.

The game isn't so much unbalanced as it is more...non-serious. I can't take the game seriously, simply because everything is backwards. Call of Duty 4 had more goals to work for, all they've done is take the powerful weapons and weak weapons, and reversed them. It seems like now you can have majorly overpowered weapons to start, and you simply unlock the crappy weapons later.

There's plenty more challenges/titles/emblems to work for in MW2 than there was in Call of Duty 4, but yeah i'll agree with the weird backwards unlocking for most of the classes - some of the best machine pistols, assault rifles, and SMG's are unlocked early, while pieces of junk like the F2000 are unlocked quite late.

Yes, the F2000 is complete cack. What is the AK like? That's one of the last few things I have left to unlock.

I personally think multiplayer is much better than cod4 and I think people only bash it if they are crap at the multiplayer game side of things. And I dont like the AK its no way near as good as it was in cod4.

The ak is a stupidly annoying weapon. If you plan on prestieging, you unlock that brill weapon right at the end and dont have a chance to use it properly...

So don't prestige then. I'm holding off going into 2nd prestige to finish the mastery of a few more weapons. Personally, I don't like the ak much.

I'm finding the AK beastly. I'm gonna finish all the challenges for that then for some of my other favorite guns.

Quote: "Having said that, pretty much nothing unlocked at a *later* level is overpowered. Can you give some examples of guns or perks that really give someone a huge advantage?"

Definitely: the ACR is ridiculously overpowered. No recoil or sway, you can snipe with it more effectively than every other sniper rifle because they have loads more sway and recoil and you have to take time to actually aim at them and them hold your breath.

Quote: "If everybody has an overpowered gun, then all of a sudden nobody has an advantage, and it becomes much more about how you use that gun and how you move around. There's no weapon in the game that you would actually be forced to use that is 'underpowered'."

Then it's just like the article I linked above said: it's a connection battle, and you can shoot someone and have it miss completely, and even though you have really good aim you can also have a garbage connection, so they just turn around and kill you with their M16 or sniping shotguns ike spas/grip or 1887 akimbo/fmj. The matchmaking system is ten times as bad as the last one and really doesn't help here.

How often do you see America always win though? I'm just praising change.

Treyarch are apparently making their new Call of Duty game to be in Vietnam. I'm just wondering if they'll make it so the Americans win that one.

I do love how americans refuse to study Vietnam in historical studies as it is one of the wars they lost Us over here in England study all wars regardless of the outcome. We aren't blinded by motives in the war! Hell we even look at Hitler, and look at all of his good qualities as a leader (Of course we don't support him, but we still study him)!

I'm pretty sure American isn't beaten in the storyline. Being invaded and surrendering are two different things.

I personally love the game. I think it's better that COD4 in a lot of ways and the multiplayer is a ton of fun. I've used all the different kinds of weapons and I think they all have a place. The only things I hated before were a few glitches involving the javelin and the overpowered lever-action shotguns but both were addressed in a patch a few weeks back.

As far as nukes go - I don't care who sets it off, I just love the effect. Your sudden death kinda throws it off but on the bigger more open maps where you can see more of the skyline the effect is brilliant. It's an awesome way for the game to end regardless of the team your on.

And regardless of anyone's opinion, I think the number of players online speaks for itself (on the 360 anyways).

Whenever I log into live via my xbox at least 5 of the people on my friends list are playing MW2 multiplayer. It's been the same since release, it has totally removed Halo 3 as the multiplayer game of choice at the moment.

Everyone I knew stopped playing Halo when COD4 came out. Halo slowly phased back in after awhile with a few people but when MW2 came out the only people I still see playing Halo are those who are too stubborn to try COD.

To be honest i am very loyal to my computer. All of my favourite game are on the computer. The entire COD series and the entire Command and Conquer series. The only time i will ever be disloyal is when Crysis 2 comes out. I am getting that for PS3 and Computer. That will be an incredible game!!!!!!! I reckon PS3 will have the better online cause my computer usually has a bad connection to these things and the PS3 is much better normally

Edit

I have updated the first post on the new arguments in MW2. If anyone has any more ideas feel free to post them and i'll add it to the post

Patriotism perhaps? It always surprises me too that the Americans can fight off aliens too, but are terrible when it comes to guerrilla warfare. Still, the English aren't ones to complain, we've gone from the big badass empire to a little wuss that hides behind America, saying, "don't hit me, cos my big brother can beat you up". But then by BEING English, it is in my blood to complain, so I will - it's one of the best English pass times you know? It's better than queuing, it was Andy Parsons that said, "the only reasons the English like to queue is so that they can have a good moan about it afterwards".

In the updated post, you've pointed out that one man army as a perk is pretty crappy. A week ago, I would have agreed with you, but after using it to finish the pesky challenge, it's actually pretty useful. It doesn't take long to change classes, and you can use it to replace all your frags/flashes/ammo - just select the same class that you're currently using. It makes it easy to adapt to the situation instantly as well - enemy camping inside a house? Swap to the sniper class and five seconds later, he's dead. Back to close quarters combat? No worries, swap to those akimbo G18's and let loose.

There are much better perks in its section, like bling (unlocked first), but it's still quite good.

Demos are for a reason - They are released by responsible companies who know that someone will be interested in buying the game or product.

Pre-orders are for a reason - they are a way for companies to get your cash no matter how good or bad the actual product is.

The moral - Common sense says you dont go buy something without checking it out first. Either download the demo or check out the full version at a freinds house but I dont advise pre-ordering anything PERiod.

(and now a word from the sponsor of this post )
You will never have to pre-order any commercial software from my company because there will be demos for you to check out and none of them will contain offensive DRM.

Your post has no real relevance gamer boots - nobody said people are complaining after they went out and bought the game and then were disappointed, they (serious competitive gamers) didn't buy it in the first place, simply because they didn't like it. IW made it very clear, well before the game release, that there would be no dedicated servers for the PC version.

Which is stupid and makes people torrent the game, making it the most pirated game of 2009. What is even more ridiculous is that it's only been out for less than three months and it's won that award.
