This looks awesome!!!btw in that last screenie you could a like a office filing cabinet or desk because i see a bunch of paper but no true source. and you could add a small blue light around the laptop if it is on or light up one of the windows. to make it more realistic the more different light sources the better

Quote: "because i see a bunch of paper but no true source"

That is very true! I never thought of that. Ill be sure to add some sort of desk or file cabinet in order to make it a bit more realistic.

Quote: "the more different light sources the better"

T
his is also very true! Im going to add some lights around the map so that way the player doesnt really need to only use his flashlight to see the map. But its just kinda hard cause I want it to be pitch black when ever your flashlight is off but then you can ever really use your gun because you cant see. But natural light sources would make it alot easier!

Thank you bman332211, I am going to take into heavy consideration all your comments! Ill go back and edit my levels now!

Alright! Im really glad you like the game! It's my second full game attempts and im hoping I can get this out to the public for all to try because my first WIP game crashed about half way through production and no one was able to test it out.

Ill be updating the thread as much as possible so every one can check it out as its being developed!

Pics look good, but the blood looks fake. I suggest looking for free to use textures on the internet or make them better.

Also maybe some billboards-buildings ar the outskirts of the level.
So it will look a lot larger even though its still the same level.

Maybe add some vegetation like trees small plants etc. Though the hedge is okey.

Nice game man.

I know, I am really trying to find a better blood texture. But I don't really know where I can find a more realistic overlay to take its place.

Quote: "some billboards-buildings ar the outskirts of the level."

Hmmm never thought of that, but it does sound very realistic. Ill be sure to add some more buildings around the map to make it seem like youre in just a small area of a larger town. Thank you for that!

Quote: "add some vegetation like trees small plants etc."

Very nice idea as well! Ill download some free trees and stuff like that and implement them into the beginning level!

Thank you for all you help Cheese Cake. Ive always followed your work on the forums and I am always impressed when ever I see your products. So it means al ot to see you like the game! I hope it wont let you down!

The picture with the hedge is looking great. Better then the previous one.
Love the improvements, the inside screenies are also looking fine.
As for the piano i would add a little chair in front of it.
And maybe for the last screenie add some paper overlays for the floor, i thought some were released on the forums a while ago.

And the inside screenie with the lockers, looking very nice.
Though i would add some pipes... just some small pipes in the back of the room.
Just going from one wall to the other. And dont know if you have the theater model pack from bond1?

If you do however, i would suggest if you added the pipes using some of his falling water effects cause they look great.

Again, nice screenies cant wait for a demo.

Looks great! awesome improvements

btw. You could ask yourself what caused the Blackout? or how? and you could answer by saying

1) The power line broke,or something broke it.(if this is the case add broken power line with sparks from sprite pack 1, if you have it)

2) Someone or thing destroyed the main generator( if this is the case somewhere in the level you can put a generator room with the broken generator , also with some sparks)

Just think about whats happens in a real blackout in the city

Quote: "As for the piano i would add a little chair in front of it."

Hahah wow, I completely forgot about that! Ill add it now.

Quote: "add some paper overlays for the floor,"

Yeah it is lookin a little plain there, ill put those in too!

Quote: "hough i would add some pipes"

I have the model pack 3 pipes but that's it. (For pipes) I have every model pack up until 25 I think. But ill go ahead and add those in right now too!

Quote: "Again, nice screenies cant wait for a demo."

The demo will be coming as soon as the 4th level is done! so really really soon!

Quote: "Looks great! awesome improvements"

WooHoo! Another good comment!

Quote: "You could ask yourself what caused the Blackout? or how?"

That is true. And what I am planing on doing is later on... maybe the forth level, you'll come across a chewed up and completely thrashed generator room and that will then tie into the secret behind the city.
I am just not so sure how I am gonna do this because outside is lit but inside is pitch black... so maybe that will just be part of the story too! Haha

Alright well I am going to try and get 98% of level 2 done before today so keep checking in for more screen shots!
Thank you all for you're help with that level editing!
Ill be sure to let you know when the demo is out!

On the last picture, if you stare at a little higher than the center of the image, you'll see why I made it so dark in this room. Your flashlight is mysteriously inactive when inside this room.

(Where can I find that script BTW) make a gun inactive when in a trigger zone.

I think it was only possible with a mod... Dont know which mod though.
Thought it was Fenix mod or Plystire's mod.

Anyway like the screenies so far and as Metal Devil pointed out.
Those were already taken care off. Also like that you replaced the wall textures in the new screenies.

Else every wall would share the same texture and that would be to repetive.

Again, nice job!

Do you use fenix mod. I hope cause you have to have fenix mod.

Ok this is the one you would put in a trigger zone at the entrance. to disable

and this is the one to enable fire when leaving the room

just put it in main for trigger zones
already tested it it works

hope this helps

Thank you Cheese Cake! Yeah, I noticed I was using the same segment over and over and I thought it would be nice to switch things up a bit! Im glad i caught that cause im sure it would of gotten annoying after a while.

OutdoorGamer

Wow, that was extremely generous of you. Im so happy you wrote that script because it would of really ruined the suspense of that particular point in the game. Ill for sure be putting your name into the "Special Thanks" part of the credits! Thank you so much!

Im sad to hear you wont be around for a bit but ill be sure to keep updating the game as much as possible so you can have something to look forward to while you're off the forums. Here is a picture from the end of level two... You found one source of the black out. But behind me in this picture is what the power is being generated for. I left that our of the picture so the game player will still have some sort of curiosity to play the game!

Tell me what you think of the picture. Tell me what I should fix.

That looks very nice! Where did you get that decal or did you make it? But one thing! The blood splat on teh floor leaves a horrible square shadow. Maby make it dynamic or edit teh floor texture, so the blood is part of the floor. But it looks still very nice. Keep it up. OH! And tehre's a light without source on the back. Or is it from the window? But teh window looks like it's boarded, so I think it's a light without source. But it's nice screenie still.

Thank you Metal Devil for always leaving good feedback on this game!
Thats a decal from the sprite pack actually! I didnt make it... I wish!
I keep removing that random light but it just keeps comin back in the test game... its really strange. But ill get that fixed!
Ill also try and get that blood problem fixed as well. I think switching it to dynamic will change it!

Can anyone help me with this? Im using this script so the player can press TAB to bring up his journalism folder, where the player will document anything that could help lead to the secret to the city. But every time you bring it up, it wont go away. It never comes off the screen, not even if you die. I pressed tab again, I held tab, but still it wont come off. Is there something wrong with this script?
