Damn, wish i could do that, the quality of the Building is just stunning- altough i'm not sure if FPSC can compliment your work.
Other than that the game looks very good designed in terms of simplicity, which means more zombies for us- yes! But it also looks nice, guess that's what you call good leveldesign.

keep it up,
Daniel

Im a bit afraid that FPSC will blur the texture (it does that in my FPSC) but i hope not lol.

Nice Audio Makes me remind of the time that i was using FPSC and having the ambition to create a game. (wich i stopped with, due to my pc and the lack of stability within FPSC (I regret even buying it))

assaam:

Oh, I didn't know it looks simple . Maybe because it's just a random indoor office? We'll see how nice I can make the outdoor scenes. I've been making indoor scenes for ages and am kinda good with them already so the outdoor scenes will be an interesting challenge

mgarand:

Quote: "Im a bit afraid that FPSC will blur the texture (it does that in my FPSC) but i hope not lol."

Yeah, my FPSC does that too, sort of. It blurs the textures from distance, but looked from a "normal" distance they look just fine. Maybe I could fix this by adding fog?

PekelaarSFX:

Thanks! Shame to hear you experiences about FPSC. For some people the program seems to be even more buggy than others :S. I'm still waiting for the perfect update that fixes all the bugs . If the support of the program continues, I don't see why not. Update after update and every bug should be squished. It's another story if every update brings some new features though.

Juzi:
yeah, Everything i'm trying to do WITHOUT any Mods or costum media works. but when i put 1 Costum Entity in the engine the Thing Crashes like a airplane.
Its just not normal how many times i had to restart FPSC or reinstall it. Its not fun for me anymore, and that while i meet the Minimum Specs.
Kinda Harsh to say here, but: Does TGC really care about Low End PC users? or do they say it so everyone feels better?

There are 3 "user groups" in my books: Ones who have few to no problems with FPSC (me), ones who have problems all the time but can get past them, and ones who just can't get the damn thing to work.

I have one friend who goes to the last category. He used to make all kinds of things with FPSC but then suddenly the program came rebellious to him and due to that, he stopped using FPSC.

And about that "does TGC care" stuff. I personally think that they are sort off trying to catch up with the "real" industry of game making by making all kinds of graphical and feature updates. I have nothing against this especially with the upcoming update with options feature. That alone tells me that TGC still cares about lower end system by providing options system for FPSC made games.

As far as I know Juzi, he doesn't like spoiling all his stuff.....but I'm sure there will be some new screens coming soon.

*************************

Okay! So, I'm writing the news on the german FPSC boards...and I'm making an Interview with a Pro/Advanced User every month, so for November its Juzi...

I though it would be cool to have the interview in this thread too so I asked Juzi and he was okay with it:

Here it is:

How long are you using FPSCreator?

- I downloaded the demo somewhere in 2005-2006 and soon after bought the full version from a local store. So I've been using the full version of FPSC from 2006.

So, did you work with any other GameDevelopmentsoftware before or do you work
with anything else too (p.ex: Source SDK, UDK, RPGmaker, Milkshape...)

- I've always wanted an easy way to tell a story so I'm a big fan of game making programs. I've been using and experimenting with all kinds of programs and my favorite is easily FPSC. I'm also currently making a humor RPG-game with RPG Maker 2003 for my friend's 19th birthday. At first it was supposed to be for his 18th but my pc's break down and my lazyness came to my way. I'm also using Source SDK's Hammer editor. At the moment I'm (slowly) making a basic cliché survival level for L4D2: A cottage in the middle of woods.

How long are you already working on vague? Quiet some time I heard?

- Yep. I started to work with the game somewhere in 2006. Remaking started end-2009.

How many people are working with you//are helping you out?

- A handful of very talented people excluding me.

Will Vague be free?

- That's a question I've been asking myself too. I've now decided that if the game is absolutely perfect and bug free, I will try to get it on Steam for a price tag ot 5 dollars. Otherwise it's free.

What does it separate from the usual Zombieshooter?

- The fact that the game really isn't a zombie shooter. The zombies and monsters are there just to keep the player on their toes and remind them for the constant danger that every corner can keep. Most of the game's time will elapse in solving puzzles, reading readalbe things and investigating/exploring the environment. There are many hidden items and easter eggs to reward the explorers

Why exactly do you only use Custom Media?

- I'm trying to make an FPSC game that doesn't look like FPSC. Most people can easily see if the game is made with FPSC just by looking at the screenshots. When I have everything custom made the way I want, I can basically make any kind of environment without the limits of just the models we have in the model packs/CG-Store/community.

Any helping advice for a newcomer // rookie?

- Well let's say the classic here: Experiment and play with the program and maybe do some personal projects before actually starting a real project. This will probably save you from the wave of negative comments when you've put a large room with 2 boxes and no lighting and call it a game.

Do you visit fpscreator.eu sometimes?

- Nope

How did you come up with the idea to start game dev in the first place?

- I actually have no idea. I've always been interested in game development. I even designed some board games before my first own computer. They were zombie themed of course xD

When will Vague be done?

- When it's ready.

Thanks to Juzi for his time

-Wolf

Awesome work decneo, only critical point : The blood on the skirt looks a bit fake (looks like a solid red brush), maybe it's better to use some textures like these:

http://cgtextures.com/texview.php?id=10436&PHPSESSID=341a02d8296b93eb49a44c856485d169

Other then that, awesome job mate!

Well, as the old, wise MetalDevil said; "Slow good progress is better than fast bad progress." Though I now have a feeling that things are going to get developed much faster than before. Everything seems to be rolling nicely because of the new persons I've recruited to the team

And a small update:

Coral City's construction will start in December, thanks to mgarand who will soon get the models done

Whow! Those zombies really shine when put as hordes, too bad FPSC can't currently handle that amount if the level is detailed. Well I'll try anyway . Great work Decne-boy.

52 fps with 28 enemies running at once is outstanding. I'm sure in a level detailed by mah man juzi here. there could still be at least 15 at once, which would be amazing!

Actually, thanks to mah man mgarand, I'm able to make both detailed and crowded levels because he keeps the object's polycounts very low without taking away quality

JaredxD:

Yeap. Imagine a horde like that coming from a dark alley and you have only one clip of pistol ammo

Yeah, as people have been saying, this isn't an actual scene from the game. Don't worry, I'll be uploading some real screenshots pretty soon
