@Anayar: Seeing as nobody really lives there and most of your claim is desert and mountians, I don't see why not.

@ LAZ: You just expanded MY kingdom into NPC claimed lands. Your kingdom is yellow and NPCs are a darker colour than the rest of the map and have borders.

I have the results of the war, turns out that we won (with only 29,740 left out of the 80,000 I sent). I will hold the land for now, if you want to claim it you have to pay us a certain amount of soldiers based on the percentage (100,000 = 100% of land, 50,000 = 50%, etc).

We have just started mining into the vast depths of the earth and found some valueable metals for trade. This brings our soldier increase to 4,000 per post.

The Byzantine Empire (or Byzantium) was the Eastern Roman Empire of the Middle Ages, centered around its capital of Constantinople, and ruled by emperors in direct succession to the ancient Roman emperors. It was called the Roman Empire and also Romania by its inhabitants and neighbours. As the distinction between "Roman Empire" and "Byzantine Empire" is purely a modern convention, it is not possible to assign a date of separation, but an important point is Emperor Constantine I's transfer in 324 of the capital from Nicomedia (in Anatolia) to Byzantium on the Bosphorus, which became Constantinople (alternatively "New Rome").
During its existence of more than a thousand years the Empire remained one of the most powerful economic, cultural, and military forces in Europe, despite setbacks and territorial losses, especially during the Roman–Persian and Byzantine–Arab Wars. The Empire recovered during the Macedonian dynasty, rising again to become a pre-eminent power in the Eastern Mediterranean by the late tenth century, rivaling the Fatimid Caliphate. After 1071, however, much of Asia Minor, the Empire's heartland, was lost to the Seljuk Turks. The Komnenian restoration regained some ground and briefly re-established dominance in the twelfth century, but following the death of Andronikos I Komnenos and the end of the Komnenos dynasty in the late twelfth century the Empire declined again.

The Empire received a mortal blow in 1204 by the Fourth Crusade, when it was dissolved and divided into competing Byzantine Greek and Latin realms. Despite the eventual recovery of Constantinople and re-establishment of the Empire in 1261, under the Palaiologan emperors, successive civil wars in the fourteenth century further sapped the Empire's strength. Most of its remaining territory was lost in the Byzantine–Ottoman Wars, culminating in the Fall of Constantinople and its remaining territories to the Muslim Ottoman Turks in the fifteenth century.

The Byzantine Empire was destroyed by an alliance of Persia, Georgia and France and Bulgaria in this game. I know what the Byzantine empire is, and also quite a bit about history, so don't talk to me like I am stupid.

And also, in real life, the Byzantines were succeeded by the Ottomans, the ottomans were Turkish Muslims. They captured children from the balkans to turn them into slave-soldiers. They were one of the first gunpowder-empires. This empire fell apart in WWI. Why do you bring this up, anyhow?

Maxell was just giving some information, probably because of the fact that Eminent is the Roman Empire and still based in Italy.

ummmm... Ok, well I am 19 and a HISTORY MAJOR, no need to correct me on stuff, I have found, though that making things realistic makes people mad. Anyways the kingdom of Georgia is south of Russia, not in America.

I'm bored of this since there are no real rules. It is the French revolution, my head has been chopped off. France will now continue as an NPC.

Yeah, this game has been dead for like a week now. If anyone one wants to talk about making a new better one, go ahead when this falls off the page.

Kind of like animal Farm, but they overthrow the humans? That could be awesome! That has my vote.

If I may make a suggestion, what if we start by making just a small map of like 10 miles where the animals overthrew the humans and then it eexpands when we reach the edge of the map?

I have been writing some rules but it's difficult to keep it simple and still flexible. Can anyone think of a way we can get random numbers so we don't need a third party to simulate battles?

If we could find something like that but where you can supply a seed so it's the same for everyone. Then the seed could just be incremented every time we need a random number.

Do yall think a world map would be good, or should we start at a zoo and then expand the map as needed? Here is a starting zoo map if we go with it. What do you think?:

Lets let this thread die and Obese finish his rules. He can finish the rules and put up a new thread (so that way, people arn't intimitated to join.) How about we let this die?

We could use this thread to talk about rules.

I would like this game to have a simple core rule set, that allows players to add things to the game as it is running.
Something that is missing from the game is limitation. There are no limits on production, resources or manpower. This in turn means there is no real reason for conflict.

I had the idea of defining three factors that you have to manage within your empire: survival, morale and efficiency.
* Survival represents your people's ability to survive, this could be how much food they have, what healthcare you provide, and so on. A high survival rating would lead to population growth.
* Morale is how content your people are with your leadership. If this is high your people will fight bravely and give their lives to your cause; if there is low morale the people may rebel against you. Religion can be used to raise the morale and loyalty of your subjects.
* Efficiency determines how quickly and professionally your citizens can complete tasks.

and how about you have 10 points and you can add however many points to each section as you want, as long as the three add to 10. fair, right?

so? im saying, thin kbaout this scenario:

BAM.
The *enter animal here*s run into the meerkat exhibit and look around. nothing. the meerkats have gone into hiding. there are small holes in the ground, but the *enter animal here*s cant even fit their *enter hand type here*s into it. one lone meerkat is across the exhibit, on hind legs. it spots the *enter animal here* leader and dashes into a hole. a series of squeaks is heard before the holes are patched up with loose dirt and sand and other minerals. they got away again.

and they are smart enough to, while it will take longer, do this in other exhibits.
