Things were a lot different. Seemed a lot more fun back then. I joined so I could get help with the 1000s of projects I had going at that time as JSG.

I joined because I used to want to make games. Now I'm just more interested in the process, from a spectators standpoint, lol.

Originally, I joined because I was interested in making my own game, and I registered under the name "Yodaman Jer" because "Yodaman" was already taken.

And yeah, things were different back then. People were friendlier, and we didn't have these constant OS wars going on...dunno why those have been so dang prominent the last few threads.

I spent like my entire first year as a user over on the DBC boards. Now I rarely visit them....

I joined so I could point out everyone's problems. Been successful so far.

Actually it was because I was young and wanted to make games and it seemed like DarkBasic was the best way to go, but I could never get over my own laziness to do anything noteworthy. I went on the forums for help.

A clue:

I joined because someone on the old DIV-arena web site recommended DarkBASIC. I downloaded the trail and was hooked.

Been here for 6 years. Now when you think about it, I grew up the latter part of my teen years on this forum, how sad. I was 15 when I signed up.

I joined because I was interested in making games - I had DBC to begin with and I wanted to show stuff off. Turns out I was over-ambitious. Joined a team back when not only were team requests were allowed but when there was a section of the forum called 'Team Requests'...I STILL have a thread in there with replies I haven't read because of its death:

It was probably threads like that which killed off the Team Requests section.

Also, Jimmy and Jeku, you should join World of Warcraft, I hear it's a real chick magnet.

But, I'm just posting here to know if it helps (ladiieeezzzz)??

I joined here because, well the RGT forum went kaput . Really though, I kinda waited on DBPro before signing up properly, becomming active. I used the old grey official forum very briefly before RGT, to be honest I'm not exactly sure when I started using DB, it's around 10 years, give or take a month or two.

If you were on RGT, or remember 'ShadowRobert', or remember the 'I hate book' thread, then your officially an oldbie .

Well, I am about 2 years old. Although, I'm sure i've been using Dark Basic for a couple years longer than that. Spent my first year or so on the DBC forums before I discovered the awsome multi-topic-hole-of-sometimes-but-not-always-useless-posts known as Geek Culture

I moved to DBPro from VB as i missed the old languages that i use to use, (STOS, AMOS, QBasic), and this reminded me of them, but it was a while till i joined the forum.

I joined in 9th grade of highschool. i loved playing computer games and i always wanted to make a game. While i didnt make anything yet, i learned quite a lot. DB is my most favorite language of all time altho i agree other languages are better its just DB seemes so easy and flexible. i dont like being restricted by syntax like other languages. My first language was quick basic, now i had some fun with that. Then someone in my class just mentioned that they wanted to learn dark basic. I immediatley looked into it, downloaded the demo, of DBC, started screwing around with it, made some spinning cubes that changed color, then my programming teacher decided to purchase a licence of DBP for the whole class. I used that for a while, then i bought the DB superpack for $300 (a few months later DB was released as freeware lol). Doing stuff in DB was like on and off for me, i would work on something for 2 months then i abandon it, then 2 months later i pick up again, then 2 monts later i abandon it again and so on. A project that i started back in 2007 i am still working on it and its still in the very beginning stages of development. making games is hard but can be very fun and rewarding.

dont hate people who rip you off, cheat and get away with it, learn from them

I joined to learn FPSC, talk to people...

I remember you though AaaGreen, or should I say BUMFATCHEESE!?

I was a moron back then though, and I guess the Doom media pirating can be forgiven. It hurts to read my old posts. Grammar errors rampant, stupid comments, urgh.

Is there a way to see the total number of posts someone's posted? It'd be pretty interesting to see, I've just hit 200 posts on UDK's forums after nine months, but I post here much more frequently...it must be at least a K...

Ah...old posts...I can see how naive I was age 15. Though it took me 1 year to get my first and only slap. Makes you feel nostalgic, plus with so many awesome members come and go, as well as projects - if only we could have kept the Rush team together better, it would have been an awesome project.

Been here since 2005 (seperate account) when TGC had some adverts around the webs about FPSC, the EA had only just been released, and It was great, I had come from game maker (yay for google ) and at the time FPS creator was pretty incredible

I joined because I googled "how to make games" and this was one of the first listings. I saw equillibrium in the demos, and from there bought DBP in hopes of creating something similar. Naturally then, I joined the forums to ask questions as well as contribute back to the community.

Holy hell!! nearly 5 years of annoying and misunderstanding people.....bring on another 5 years on flames and tantrums.

Yeah remember back in the day when there were like only 3 model packs for quite awhile...And people were STILL buying that stupid 3d game creator thing whatever it is called....

Just been chatting to my neighbours teenage daughter and it turns out she's big into UFOs and aliens.

Which is cool because tomorrow she's getting abducted.
