World of Warcraft? I'm getting that friday as part of a deal with my friends. I've been telling the to watch My Little Pony, they've been telling me to start playing WoW, so we ad a compromise.

Of course, they actually liked MLP which was a funny moment when they admitted it to me. It remains to be seen whether WoW is worthwhile for me...

Especially with a pony MMO in the works.

Anything that ends with "craft". That's what people seem to fall for, after all.

It's a console port.

Quote: "World of Warcraft."

I personally couldn't get into that game.

Quote: "ive been playing bulletstorm you guys are bad critics its the best game ever!!!! "

Welp. That's your opinion, and if it's so unswaying, then I will comment no further on that trash heap of a game.

My point was simply that you don't need a "new beast PC" to run it well

Sad thing is I find it alot more entertaining than Blizzard's original trailer.

I think it just needed 20% more explosion. Now the Halo 3 marketing, damn, that was an awesome era. Game disappointed by comparison, but the trailers they put out were awesome, live action stuff a horrible tease at the beauty of a Halo movie.

And then Halo 4 was announced. In advance, I'm going to derecommend that.

GC, Halo 3 was amazing. Run a cold bath, sit in it, then think about what you just said.

@Indicium

Oh don't get me wrong. Been a Halo fan since the start, heck, it's where my alias comes from.

It's just after all the hype, it was impossible for the game to live up to the reputation Microsoft was building. Hence why I'm wary of Skyrim - except with that the hype is generated by the players discussing it.

Also to add to the list of recommended games...

Magicka

If you are looking for a fun coop game.... GET MAGICKA NOW!!! Me and Thraxas have been playing it for a couple of hours now and NON stop dying laughing and straight having the most fun I've had in a video game in an extremely long time. It could easily be a $60 game (even though it's an outrageously cheap $10) and still be considered more fun than 95% of $60 games.

It's awesome fun... although I think I killed you more than the enemy in that last battle we did...

Finding out cool stuff by accident is awesome too.

I'm just getting Skyrim for 360 - I really don't see any benefit in getting it for my PC. My PC isn't a slouch, but random crashing, random glitches, and the fact that my PC will be used up by it, just puts me off. I have a spare 360 hooked up next to my PC, and a spare 32'' flatscreen.... I plan to stick that inbetween my computers, so I can play it while working (I have BIIIIIG desk). Anyone else concerned about the impact Skyrim will have on their productivity?

As for Pony MMO's, well I've never heard anything so creepy in my entire life!

a shame, but actually at least as good as the first, so it's very good

I got Fallout 2 recently, (and fallout 1, though 2 is standing out for me) and I love it, doubly so because I'm currently wielding a super-awesome quite powerful crowbar

I was just out at Best Buy last night, and couldn't help but notice a 2 for $15 bin of PC games. Fo1 and 2 were both in there. I'll probably pick 'em both up at some point.

LA Noire was very good, the facial animation is something to behold and the story wasn't too bad (homicide was my favourite storyline). Buuut, too often everything that happened was connected to the same case, there were only really two storylines in the whole game split into "cases". I would liked to have seen more cases that weren't connected to the main story - or major cases as they might be called. The other problem with the game is that it is far too easy, your are constantly lead in the right direction and do extremely little detective work under your own steam. The game is very "samey", it could have been so much more, but it's only a disappointment to me because it has opened many new boxes yet left them half-filled, I guess I should be grateful that it opened them at all.

Recommendations:

Minecraft (~$10) - Rearranging blocks is addictive.

Beneath A Steel Sky (FREE) - The best point and click adventure game I've ever played, it's a real classic from the 90's.

Mafia (~£10) - One of my favourite games of all time. Technically it's a simple drive, run and shoot game but there's so much more to it than that. The atmosphere is brilliant - set in 20's 30's prohibition era USA - there's an excellent ebb and flow to the game, one minute you're pootling along in your car enjoying the music and the next you're tearing through the streets, guns blazing!
Unlike every other game I've played, in MAFIA car crashes hurt - which seems fairly logical - this makes driving fast actually fun and tense because one slip up and you could be dead - I really can't understand why other games don't do this. Two other unique mechanics are speed limits and traffic lights. At first you might think this sounds dull, who wants to obey the speed limit or stop for red lights? This adds to the atmosphere of the game and the ebb and flow of it all. Mafia is all about high-profile actions versus low-profile actions. Sometimes you'll need to break the law (you play a gangster after all!) but other times it's in your best interest to obey the law and go unnoticed.
If you have committed a minor crime the police will only issue you a fine, but serious crimes will warrant an arrest, if you fire at the cops they will fire back, but they don't kill everything they see like in GTA games.
I would recommend getting this game on PC as it was originally developed for PC, the console ports were released a number of years later, are more expensive and as far as I can recall have more annoying loading points than the PC version.

Lol definitely. Being struck by lightning became quite ordinary for me hahaha. It's a little frustrating how difficult the game is though. I told Thraxas I had so much fun playing that I would dream Magicka... Yep... Dreamed Magicka lol. Hell I woke up excited to play it lol.

Someone here needs to get Magicka to understand how fun this game is.
