I would have to say that Google Plus incorporated what other things you might not like and what you like to be added to Facebook. Though it is a different social network all together, the comparison would still be inevitable because it came right at the peak of Facebook.

I would have to agree that Circles would definitely be a great idea as you get to sort your friends out. And with google's services, it definitely is something to look out for.

I have monthly defriend clearouts of people I can't remember anymore or decide I no longer like.

So far it's kept me steady at ~170 people I can be arsed with.

Well that makes sense, doesn't it? Social networking has been around since before I was even born, so to my generation it's not some newfangled weird technology, it's just been there. While to older folks, it's unnesescary because they're used to older tech.

Despite this though, my mum spends significantly more time on it than me. But while I can just walk over to my friends and talk, she uses it to chat to old friends/relatives at where we used to live.

Haven't received an email yet, if that's what those come in, which I would assume it does.

And thank you so much. *Ultimate high five*

I'm on it now. It's pretty great so far, but it definitely needs the ability to post on peoples' profiles and a better messaging system. All in all though, I like it more than I ever liked facebook.

Sweet-tastical.

And Yodaman, you got in?

Is this old news?

Yeah, I got in yesterday. Currently adding people to my Circles and setting it up. I had to tell my girlfriend how to set up a Gmail account so that we could use Google Chat instead of FB (Chat on FB is the worst thing ever, especially since they've linked it to your inbox now). So far, Google+ is pretty awesome. I can't wait to get a phone with Android on it so that I can download the G+ app.

Search for "Jeremy Gardner"; my profile pic is of me wearing my fedora. It should also say "Luke's Deli" under my name.

Sorry if this is considered a bump but I just want to say, I got all my friends on Plus. Tomorrow we're planning a party at my friend's house and the fact that I could send a message confirming the party to my bro circle (My close friends, of which go everywhere with me) was so convenient, I didn't make anyone else feel bad. And I made a circle for that kid company I was talking about, so now I can send newsletters easier, because they check social networks more then email. I was wrong about email trumping social networks. Google has done it once again.

Just joined it. Seems ok. Not mega intuitive. I don't like bland white interfaces. There is keeping it simple and then they is making it so simple that your eyes is not drawn to functional areas.

I like the circles idea though. On FB, I often don't add people who request to ad me because I don't want them to be privy to my info or what i'm up to. Plus I don't care about their lives. But the downside is, often they're useful contacts. With Circles, I can bung them in a "Probably a fool, but useful to know" category!

The white interface is traditional to Google. Everything Google is white in the back, including Youtube. But I think at some point you will be able to change themes like on Gmail.

I've got invites if anyone wants one. I've been a member since it started, but my ban was just recently lifted here, so if anyone wants one just email me or post here.

I just now realized I've had a typo in my signature for the past 3 years.

Thanks, Indicium.

Interesting feel to it. The way their demo was presented to the masses, I was actually kinda expecting something completely different. Little disappointed, but we'll see how it works out. Going to force myself to use this for a while, to give it an honest chance.

So how is it different than that interactive demo? I hated the way the demo was presented and assumed it would be identical.

That's totally different, you don't get to use the features there. And they don't talk about half the stuff you can do, or how it all comes together. The tour doesn't do Google Plus justice.

And what interactive demo?"

We really don't need to know who can invite people... over and over again, seriously. If someone asks for an invite, someone should just send one. We don't need it from any particular person.

With that being said... I wouldn't mind an invite. redneckrambo(at)gmail.com is my email

I assumed it would be identical too, but I kinda liked the way they presented it, which was why I was interested to see what all the fuss was about.

Quote: "The tour doesn't do Google Plus justice."

I'm the opposite here. I feel Google+ doesn't do the tour justice.

The tour made it look completely different from every other social network, something more interactive and visually appealing. I was really hoping they would pull that off for me, because then I may actually be willing to stick around for an intuitive leap in social interfacing. But I come to find out that the interface, while boasting many new things, just feels like a normal site, dressed up in unnecessary transitions.

Anyway... doesn't look like any of my friends or family got the invites I sent out, so still waiting to actually use this thing instead of playing around with it, picking out everything I don't like

"

I'm feeling the exact same way. Just seems like they used different words for what is already the same as every other social network.

I really see no reason to ever use Google+ as Facebook already has a registered user for everyone I've ever met and they both virtually do the exact same thing.

Well theres some bells and whistles, like being able to sent messages to entire circles but no one beyond that circle. This makes my life unbelievably better but I can see how that would mean nothing to most.

Considering my circles will probably only consist of "Friends", "Family", and "People who wanted to add me but I didn't want to be rude to", I'd say it was a fairly useless feature for me personally.

Was looking into this "Sparks" things, and all I can say is that I'm sorely disappointed. They said something about feeds, and streaming those feeds to ME about what I'm interested in. But all I can find here is a typical internet search. Typing in "video games" because I'm interested in video games, didn't return anything I would want streamed to me.

So, aside from sparks and circles, what else does this thing do? *taps on the glass of the brand new google fish tank*

Group text and video chats, which I understand can be gotten in Skype but I like it being bundled into one social network because my friends apparently can't handle having an account on more then 2 social networks...
