Playing around with Tranparent glass, (Why is that?) Because in level 2 I will use alot of tranparant glass... You can take a black picture and make it tranparent, but it just dosnt look realistic. After some testing, I came up with that an alpha texture looks best if You paint it nearly black in the middle of the texture and let the edges around be a little whiter, so the "window" looks like it have been hand-washed, with the result that the glass looks a bit dirty around the glass.. I tried this in Cinema 4D and the result is good. (At least I think so!)

Love the huds!

Does that mean level 1 is finished?
Agreed on the glass. Scratches work well too!
Characters. You build them a world and what do they do? They moonwalk, get stuck in the walls and fall through the floors!

Nope, but I have just one big script to do before I reach that elevator that takes Me to level 2.. But I do have around 20 enemys and drones to place out on level 1... (And some small details to fix)
Yep, Its a real art to make realistic glass. And even mutch harder in FPSC...

I never think I have seen light-flares in a FPSC game. Why is that? They look cool and also add the game a new dimension.. So I started to play with flares and the BETA1 test is ready to go!

Not really happy with the plaster wall-textures so I changed them to a more moderate texture. Did I do the right thing??? You have already seen the old textures, so this is how the new ones look...

Well, I wont release the demo (level1) until I have finished the whole game. (Or until I get a job at DICE) That courld take years (3-4 maybe) But good news, I have now started to add enemys in level1 and all drones are done. I did some changes to the mp5 (moved it forward a bit) here You can see:

I know im pushing the fpsc-engine to the max, so I dont think We will see any water in the sewer. (Sence I want the game to be playable on lowspec comps as well) Sad that You cant add water localy. Anyways My dream right now wourld be to use EAIs new counter-gun, its awesome!
Here are some screenshots from a very dry sewer...

Finally level 1 is ready and done! Im really proud that I made it into the goal, and I want to thank all that helped Me with this game.. What can I say about level 2? Its a city-level and FPSC is way to small for Me to do what I really want to do. So I have been thinking if GameGuru wourld be a solution. Perhaps I courld port My game to GG? I know that the AI in GG sucks, but it will be better has LEE promised. But You cant come around that FPSC is a great indoor engine, and as long as You are happy with that, there is no better indoor engine, but for Me I might move on... (Sad because I love to work with FPSC)...

You could do a small city level without making it too detailed as the total area supported by FPSC is around 0.1 km (which will be equivalent to small sections of some places in a city - usually crowded).

I dont think I have seen a crowded city in an FPSC game ever..

Anyways, it seems very dead here at the forum so maybe I courld wake it up a bit! As a developer now I think I have matured alot sence the garage and the fastfood resturant level, so here is the newest thing from level 2 in form of screenshots:

This place was so empty I just had to add something there, but I really did not know what. Then I came up with an idea, it wourld be really cool with a little crime-scene in the subway area, and so be it...

I might have said that I maybe will start using GameGuru instead of FPSC. But sence the AI in GG is a joke, it maybe takes 5 years until the AI in GG is good enough and then I buy it. As it is now I wourld not accept a free copy of Gameguru... Okay enough GG talk, I am working really hard with My game now, and the subway-station is ready for use. Now I just have to add some work to the traffic-control area.. Im not sure how I will move on from here, maybe I will make a Max Payne and let the player enter the train and after that add a cut scene.. But I guess I move on to the next room by lazy issues...
Here is a screenie of the traffic-control room:

@Mr Love I have recently tested Dark AI from BIMod in places with cover and that stuff works like a charm.

Why don't you start a WIP thread for the game? It would be easier to keep track of the stuff imo and more people will join the thread.

Ok, this is how it is. I was not going to release this ark-door which is punched thru the wall, but I will do it anyways! So here You go! No textures on, but You can add them Yourself... (Looks white in FPSC)

I courld see a classic armchair online, so I thought I just have to make this model in Cinema 4D... Pheew! Alot of bending cylinders here......
Here is a screenie of My armchair & the original:

This is how they looks in "the office" not so good I think because of the low resolution I use in the editor (1024x768), but You still get a feeling how they looks in an environment... Also I retextured a door today and it turned out quite well (Picture below)......
Thanks ncmako!

Thanks all! Just wanted to show You what I am working on now.. Yesterday was a busy day, so I took a look at google for a 3d camp-bed.. No beds ofcourse, so I spend half the day making one, and here is a picture of the result... Today I have worked on a model that suppose to look like a secret agent that is working under the corrupt government, hes ready to go, but first I have to rig Him. Rigging that is so boring(!!!)
Here is the pictures:

Finally I made it work, Pheeeww!!! After wasting hours and hours on rigs that didnt work I can now say that the TF341-animations is now working on My Thug3 model That has to many polygons. (9000) But I havnt noticed any slowdowns Yet, but compared with Unreal 4 who can use medium and high poly objects, We still have a way to go until FPSC can handle, lets say 25000 polygons.. But dont forget that computers is getting faster in a high tempo, so soon We wont use character models with crappy 1500 polys anymore...
Here is My thug model. Im glad that the hands match the guns perfectly...

As for your thug with 9000 poly's (Fantastic work MrLove by the way) is should be ok
if not too many are active at once? I've used several high poly npc's before without a hitch.

Just wanted to pop in and say that I have used two new game-engines latly. Yesterday I installed Black Ice, and thats something I will never do again! The Bots are shooting thru static house-walls and objects for gods sake(!) Better up was the install of Cryengine 5.3 I loved to work with it, but My computer courld not handle thoose millions of polygons, but when I update My comp then Cryengine is perfect to work with, and its free... But I guess I stay with My project that Im still working on... I want to thank ncmako for the help with the objectives-system and the bigscreen in the control-room lights up like a cristmas tree now...
And some screenies as usual...

Picture1 shows a dying thug begging for His life LOL!!

Picture2 shows My objectives Hud. (System by ncmako)

Picture3 shows 5 blinking decals in the control-room. (Represents 5 train accidents. Sabotage by Player and the rebels.)

Stuff like this just makes my day. The control room looks really good, nice clean lines. Glad you got your
"control screen" working.
Now as for your "cute paint bucket"... make it dynamic, give it some good weight for physics, and then shot the heck out of it for fun
No really, it looks great.

I might be an added avid developer with FPSC. Mr. Love it looks like you are doing very well with your map and the light mapping is very good. You're not using Black Ice and it looks like you are using the beta version of 18 rather than 17a? I thought there was a problem with beta 18? After all that work I hope it builds OK for you. Since I had contributed a good deal of money towards reloaded (Game Guru now) I thought I would give it a shot; especially knowing I can program in lua. However, before I got too far I decided to build a standalone with it knowing how Lee, being the only programmer has problems keeping his priorities straight. Well, I was right. It would not build a standalone. Well, it did but all I got was terrain with anomalies and the skydome.

I wold like to say a big howdy to one of my buddies from the old days, ncmako. He has always been very helpful. I also see that xplosys is still around. Of course all those who contributed to BlackIce Mod are old familiar faces. I'm going to start out with BlackIce -- either that or my rpgMod but I am having some problems with it because of the build. I think I somehow have the wrong FPS Creator exe file. Not the game exe file. If I can do RPG with BlackIce or at least a semblance of it.

Thanks Boys...

Quote: " I thought there was a problem with beta 18?"

Well, the only problem with beta 18 is if You respawn a Character it will be flying over the ground, but its no big problem because You can set a lowering value in the .fpe file and it works like usual.. (But it looks a bit weird in the editor)
Otherwise than that beta 18 seems faster then 17a and when I used the later many entitys just disappeard. (Some wall buttons in this case) I did test Black Ice, but there is no bullet-collision for static objects.. So when I hide behind a house, the Bots courld just shoot thru the building...
There are some bad things with all betas, but I recommend beta 18...

I want to start with to say thank You ncmako Who told Me not to give up on My build. And now it works fine. An issue I have seen in many FPSC games is an overuse of polygons. Here is a picture/example that shows that with an good alpha texture You only need 4 polys! The doors is an alpha-picture I made myself, and it was a pain to make it couse all holes in the bars had a diffrent size. But thank God for Photoshop. I say USE MORE ALPHA PICTURES they really saves alot of pologons, and improve speed...
