they've been visible for me all the time, but I can still see them. You should add them up to the list at www.tgcapollo.tk - I really like the last three ones.

Something a little less abstract, the idea of forums bringing light to people:

Art is all about inventing BS concepts like that - not that it really matters. My favourite artist is Dali, and he said that he did not understand his own works.

Aparently that's what most of the greats say...
really what they're saying though is: "I understand what it's suppose to be, but if i explained it, it'd sound lame and some art jackass ::cough:: i mean critic would tell me i don't understand the genius of my own work."

or something along those lines. It's true, the critics are full of BS, good artists tend to go for simple concepts and tell them with pictures
Bad artists again are full of BS.

and since mouse motivated me, i reworked one from yesterday:

You got sharp eyes. Yea, it is from a sample image. I assumed that since it comes freely with every copy of winXP that its uncopyrighted. But i'll take it off just in case

yeah one hostile banner destroyed .

no didn't want to you to take it off. i don't know whether it is copyrighted or not. any lawyer here?

edit: but when looking at the rules esp. rule "4 - No stupidly "copyright" pictures please. Just grabbing a chunk from something on gamespy or gamewallpapers.com doesn't count." since this a wallpaper, leave it offline

I *am* reading this thread each day - you guys are just posting like nutters, so I cannot respond to you all. I think we have plenty of entries now so let's set a deadline of next Friday and then you can all vote in some winners - not sure how many winners we'll have yet though!

I can confirm that if you don't already own DBPro and your banner is picked as a winner - you can have a copy of DBPro Online instead of the plugins if you like.

Cheers,

Rich

I am *really* starting to think that you should set a max entry limit on people now. Some members are uploading like, 15 banners.

Yep, that's whats different to everyone elses... Mine is an animated gif, whereas noone else seems to have taken the opportunity to try it.

And the file size is a mere 12.6 KB with 8 frames of animation I think it was... maybe 6... Can't remember now.

Jess.

Oh, and Exeat, nice script

megaton - we're not really looking for any one winner though, so I don't really mind how many banners people want to make - they can only win 1 prize afterall Ultimately all short-listed banners will enter rotation on the site.

Cheers,

Rich

Woah, what a long list. Just modified my script so now it numbers all the entries, I also removed the ones that weren't working. In total, there's 76 entries on my page, as usual, see them here:

or
http://ep.designex.net/Misc/Apollo

Quote: "one small question, rich. which is more correct: Forums or Forum?"

I always thought the singular forum was each of the seperate "General Talk", "DBP Discussion", so those both would be a 'forum' but both of them together would be 'forums', so collectively, all the forums on this site could just be called 'The TGC/Apollo Forums', meaning the whole board itself. I'm not sure if it's correct though.

yes, but I'll allow them to use it for their banner.

Here is a different Elemental theme, was going for ice:

Only problem is that it is just a hair over the size restriction (10,203)

Jessticular's already done an animated one, although it's very subtle and you can hardly notice it. I don't see why they can't be animated, it's just it might not look as nice if it is.

Anyway, now that the script's done, I found time to do a couple more:

[Preview]

[Preview]

Neither of them are my best and they don't really suit the forum either so I guess I'll give up on that style lol.

Have a Preview of my latest one.

Here is the actual image, but I recomend looking at the preview in case you miss the start of the animation.

( 50 frames @ 2.094KB total )
Ammended the above image to say "Forum" instead of "Forums"

Have fun
Jess.

Thanks man, Oh, and is there any possibility that you could put a size generation, and file extension type displayer on your script? Just makes it easier to compare them all
And it's not too hard with PHP.

Thanks.

yes exeat, so were my thoughts (about forum and forums), but perhaps it could be possible, that something like "general talk" or "Darkbasic Pro discussion" are boards and all boards together are the Forum. So i really don't know.

And Exeat, would you be so kind to change the link of #74 to "[path here]\Logo10b.jpg"?

I'll see if I can find time to do that later tonight, I'm a little busy right now. Hence why I'm not on MSN.

I know, it is puzzling isn't it? And then there's where some people call the whole thing a 'Message Board' and then there's others that call "General Talk" and "DBP Discussion" 'Sub-Forums' and the whole thing a 'Forum'. I'm not sure if there is a right way. lol.

Forum is correct. The boards (dbpro, general talk etc) make up the single forum.
