Once I get my forum logo prize (treemagik) then there'll be some foliage floating around.

try treemaker - http://www.treemaker.nl/. you have to work a while to get
the polys down, but it makes great models. I have examples on the model page on my site.

Thanks all.

I'll try treemaker.

If everything goes to plan and I can have a good coding session this afternoon, I *hope* to release a demo of the deathmatch tonight.

Is there going to be a demo soon? Oh my gosh this game looks wicked! I gotta try it man! You're killing me! *Whine whine whine*
(Yes I love First Person Shooters!)

Second question, is this game always going to be free?

Third, what kind of music is in it again?

Demo - look above ^^^^^^

Free? Probably. If I finish it and it's blisteringly good, then I might charge a small amount for it.
I'm only talking if it gets near commerical quality, which is probably not for a very long time

Dangit! I'm broke >_< better start saving up 'cause if this game comes out in stores, I'll be first in line at the counter... but knowing me while I'll be at the counter, I'll have forgotten to pick up the game from the shelf to hand to get priced >_<

(Or maybe... I dunno... I gotta try the game first... what about Game Music?)

It should be 24mb. Did the download finish before it had been done? I extracted the zip on my machine to test it.

I played and had a lot of fun.

Got an average of 28 FPS on Grand Valley.
Specs:
1.8 ghz radeon 8500 1024 ddr ram

Few suggustions:
-Zoom goes in instead of out
-Scrap the blood particle effect. I got 12 FPS while blood particles were in sight
-Hard to tell where bullets are going, and you might wanna put a little offset for realism.
-Get those characters animated. I think Big Munchkin was the only one animated(or running the animation).

A book? I hate book. Book is stupid.

Still trying to figure that out >_<. Actually, while typing this, I have worked out why. Odd! It does however zoom in when using MP40 or sniper.

Quote: "-Scrap the blood particle effect. I got 12 FPS while blood particles were in sight"

I will tone them down *alot*!

Quote: "-Hard to tell where bullets are going, and you might wanna put a little offset for realism."

They do go dead straight from the crosshair. Fire at the ground and see where the dust is. I'll probably add some offset too.

Quote: "-Get those characters animated. I think Big Munchkin was the only one animated(or running the animation). "

Really? :/ They all animate on here. However there is a little bug where when they close they can stop playing the running animation and start playing the firing one before they finish running >_<

Might want to try a different map - grand canyon I clever but not best. Try death vallery or fire mountain. They are good for deathmatches.

Thanks for the feedback.

OH my gosh! That game... GOOD WORK! Omg I felt like I was in gamer heaven! (And that's 8 FPS... RARELY! It was mostly 7 or 6!)

What did you like? Just interested - so I can make the good bits better.

It needs to be rounded off at the corners - add a nice menu, team selection screen, etc.

Easier to say what I didn't like, my computer! I understand it was a beta and some features were missing but yeah! Game's wicked man! Looking foward to it. Fun! And amazingly addictive! Woulda kept on playing if it wasn't for spyware and pop up ads to interupt >_< but hey! If it wasn't for that I wouldn't be here right now saying how wicked the game is!

Although there IS one thing... Colt 45 sound was taken from I believe A1 Sounds?

Heh, love the game, very cool. But I found a spelling mistake in one of your death things.
"-n meant to do that, realy"
realy should be spelled really.
Just thought I'd point that out to you. At least I think its spelled wrong, but you could always check. Mabey my eyes were fooling me....
Anyways, very nice game.

Granada:

Did you respawn there? Or walk off the world? Because I haven't put any invisible walls in yet :p

Game wiz:

This is scary - there are animations . They run, then when they get closer they change to a shooting animation. I'll try nad make them more defined.
You can tell you are shooting by a) a gun noise and b) the gun moving up.

Newbie Brogo:

You're right. And I trusted Mentor too :p

Friday's update.

- Rocket launhers nad grenades fully work now. Tasy FX :p

- I've gained about 10fps on my computer now, by remove the "set text size" calls

- There's now a damage indicator, they're coloured bars wrapped around the sides of the screen that pulse when you're being shot from that direction.

Screens soon, once I get the water effects done.

@genius: You get ammo by running into ammo powerups. You change weapon using the number keys, or mousewheel.

@Mitchell: yes, there is. A bug with DBPro's automipmapping it seems. Converting textures to DDS seems to be the answer. I've already done that with a few flames and it's looking good/

Cool! Can you add winning and make the ememies kill eachother faster? Make it harder? On an UZI, I can take out 150 guys before i run out of ammo... And how did you make it so smooth at 10 FPS?

Yes, there are adjustable difficulty levels. The game gets more difficult by increasing the enemy's health - which is often higher than the green team's health. The greens seem to have some edge over them somewhere

Now it's much more frantic, you really have to watch out if anybody's shooting at you as you die rather eassily.

How do I make it so smooth? The only thing that is frame-rate scaled is the movement speed. ie, at 60fps I set what hte movement should be. And then, if the game is played at 30fps, the program doubles the movement speed, to keep up.
