Hey Jimmy,

The site's down again, as I'm sure you already know

Just wondering when the last time was that you took backups of everything, as I don't have a recent backup of the dbHelp database

Thanks mate,
Jess.

[EDIT]
Oh, and if anyone's wondering why I'm posting this, and not emailing him, well I assume that his email addy is dead also ( admin @ dbspot ), so This's the only way I can contact him

Yea, im not too bothered about my site as its backed up et all but this is kinda scary.

If you decide not to host dbSpot Jimmy thats ok but just save dbHelp

Also can you confirm what the problem is?

If you want to move dbHelp to a more reliable host - you can always e-mail it to me...

Thanks for the offer Nick, but I'm pending some space else-where and for the time am willing ( if everyone else is ) to put up with the downtime from Jimmy's host.

I've also got my own space that I could upload it to that came free with my ISP and is pretty much always online

But, switching domain names too often will confuse people and no-doubt annoy them, so I'll just stick with DBSpot till I get this other space

Thanks,
Jess.

back ups of your site ?
I work on the opposite way : I make a site on my pc, and in some kind of way, the online version is only the back up.

Damokles,
Nah, I have backups of the site itself, but the database with recent submissions I don't have ( last backup was about two weeks ago, I think..? ), so I'm hopeing that Jimmy has a more recent back-up otherwise any aditions in that time will have been lost ( unfortunatly ).

Jess.

What's ETA?

Anyway... I estimate that the time at which the arrival of complete dbspot operation will take place, will be within the next 2 to 300 hours.

Thank you.

Jimmy, all I can say is, don't rush it, do it right and get things working properly. I'd rather wait a while for the services to be running with (minimal) problems then get it now with loads of problems. Don't know if many people agree with me, but that's my thought.

I'm not worried about my site anymore now that I know you have back-ups

I just wanted to know if dbspot works correctly again, because I can't login yet. Here's my situation :
- I subscribed a few days before it went down.
- Now I try to login, it doesn't work.
- I can't even register.

Well when my avatar re-appears I'll know Jimmy's got my site back up and running from a backup. If he's got my site that is, I'm not that worried really, I backup everything I upload before uploading it. We just have to be patient and give the poor gitt a chance!
