Just the player. Because animating the whole fpsc character stock would be to much work.

Ive justed uploaded a a movie of the spade weapon. The pack is made up of tools, which you can use as weapons.

They could be good for your game .

Good idea. Just watch the textures and the walls. The one screenshot you can see thru the one wall into the other. Just need to place it differently.

Good luck with it and keep up the hard work!

Ill email you when its out any way.

Cool screenies, Butter fingers!
I really like them. I hope you release demo soon.
I'm really interested about testing this.

PS: Are those models like radio and underground thug in 2nd screenie (if my memory serves me right) made by you or are they made by someone else?

NIK, Im honoured mate, it was the map you just posted, that inspired me to start doing some propper level design with attention to detail. I thought yours was sick by the way, the cigarette packet etc were wicked.

I've got the boombox to increment the music volume as you get closer to it! it changes to a filtered bass only loop when really far!

Thanks, I put all my effort in when I build maps. Its my passion to try and create impressive enviroments. Thats a really good idea with the boombox volume thing. I also have alot of entities on my map that you can interact with in different ways, some of them are humorous and others have a purpose. I would share a couple of them with you, but I want them to be a surprise when I release my map.

New York, London, fictional town...?

@NIK,
Thats alright about not wanting to share stuff, I've got a few cool surprises too!! How about when we've both released our levels, we can trade some media then? I agree with you about the importance of level design..you feel so much more absorbed in the game, when the level looks detailed and real.

@Nigezu
The game has three chapters. Each takes place in a different place in Carcer City. This is chapter 1 "vicious addicts" so it's a ghetto-mean-streets feel. chapter 2 is "The Honourable Ho-Sing", and has a more chinatown/triads feel. But i haven't even built segments for that yet!!scripting AI for chapter 1 and 10minute build times for testing really aren't helping work flow!!!

Have you figured out yet what feel chapter 3 has?

Nice Screens
But one thing , Why does the player have a Thompson? it looks a bit weird when you got a Thompson, and the enemies and levels look modern...

@ Essal

Yeah sorry about that, Im working on new spas 12 shotgun, MP5, and Beretta (with blowback) I want the player to have their arms/hands on the screen, but for now, the thompson makes the best noise, and is fun when testing....

@ Maeko

Yeah there is alotta graf, Im tending to confine it though, non residential areas are strewn with it, apartments and crack dens, tend to be more run down...

And yeah Im taking care to iron out any deadly slow patches. framerate rarely below 28fps, even with 3 hostiles in an open area...

aaarg. So many!! Thankyou! Ok, well chapter 1 is all built (map anyway), Would people prefer me to bang in some random bad guys and release a blast-em-up demo, or shall I wait until I've written the story, and custom AI, so you'll have a better Idea of the final project?!

Also, higgins, hows that weapon pack coming? Will the textures be customisable?!

(Oh yeah, the customised-arms-on-screen-guns are probably not going to happen. Maya went a bit loco last night...)

i agree with nik, enemies hidden round corners is a doomers nightmare, especially when you think its safe to cross a t junction and u get abushed by really nasty nasties.

It's gonna mean a longer wait, but NIK's right. I'll work on the AI today and story this week and maybe there'll be something playable by friday. I dont want people to play something thats half finished and sh*t...and then lose interest.

Lost soul, there's plenty of surprises..(swat teams burst in on a drug deal) cracked out bums beg for cash, etc

music is takin longer than expected. Im a professional music producer by trade...so all the beats and ambient street noise in the game are my own.
