But it was purely a negative post, he didn't even try to give any constructive criticism.

Honestly, I can't really say I care. I apologize for donating something that wasn't absolutely perfect, Alpha Zero.

ThinkDigital-Don't be down mate, not everyone is going to like what you come up with. I think it looks just fine :p. Keep up the good work okay?

seriously.. this game now has absolutely NOTHING to do with blackout. you're probably not going to be able to use the original source, or the media, none of the original programmers or modelers have touched this thread in ages.

you should really not be holding onto this sticky just so you can argue between yourselves in it, no offense meant.

I think you should actually start a new open fps thread and continue the new project under a new name in there.

you never know. you might get more done if you're trying to keep a new thread alive.

also, in the new thread, you might want to keep your dislikes for someones donation to yourself. it puts off other people from donating.

and one of the things you will find in your new thread is that you will start to really appreciate ANY kind of effort from the community. haha

The site is still up http://blackout.vectramedia.net/index.php

Not working on it at the moment as I am working on the OMMORPG project. However, a lot of the work being done on the OMMORPG Project will be available for the Blackout Project. So, in a round about way, this is being continued.

For those that have not read a few posts back, the original code is pretty much being scrapped the project is starting over from scratch. Of course the original code will still be available for use as needed.

Currently, the foundational code for GUI, object management, and AI is being worked on for the OMMORPG project, as well as a decent out-doors system, which will allow players to crawl through tall grasses and bush areas, as well as leave trails to be tracked (should make for a nice hunting scenario).

Anyway, the short of it is that I only have the time for one project, so the OMMORPG is it. But the Open Source FPS, AKA BlackOut, is still alive, even if it is in a comma on life support.

If you want to contribute, models, such as weapons, structure materials (buildings, trees, crates, barrels, etc.) will be needed. Animators will probably be extremely valuable as well.

i downloaded the files of the website today, and when i try to run the exe to see what its like, it says blackout has encountered an error and must close (i think my computer has a thing against large and complex code, my old project had a fair of complex code and i got the same problem when trying to resume the game from the pause menu)
