G'day Valle,

Couple months ago, I asked you if you was one who made "Stick Fighters Brawl" couple years ago on QBasic, I managed to find the link you asked for and even screenies. Been long time since I've been using QBasic

Cheers Anto

Hey, you wouldn't happen to want to be using Allegro for Stick Suicide 3 because of this, would ya? http://www.allegro.cc/depot/BrutaloDeluxe

Alright, this is cool. I picked it up a while ago and I just started making custom content (levels and weapons, if I release a pack with this stuff, loads of people will be prancing around with keyblades, dragon scimmies (very powerful ;D) and my "so called" THE PUNISHER.

Hey, I made a C++ drawing API, for 2D. So if you wanna make the next Stick Suicide (In 2D, that is), you should use that

@Diggsey
Awsome

@Roxas
Allegro is a pretty good API, and is cross-platform.

Finally I updated the site again and uploaded two map-packages now, one includes the standard-maps and all I downloaded here, the other one includes 15 Jump-Maps I made in the past...

You can find them in the download-section of http://sticksuicide2.de.vu/ .

Sorry for the bump, but I'd like to show an electric guitar weapon that I made, with correct alignment for the frets and where you strum.

Here's an in-game pic.

hey, cool to see something happening here
I'm just not very active in programming at the time. And i'm learning c++ with allegro. I started ss3, but dont expect it to be finished too soon
If i manage i 'll make it online. I had big plans with story and stuff, but i think it 'll just become a pimped ss2 with better graphics, cool splatter effects like physically correct flowing blood and brains sticking on walls. New weapon types like chainsaws and Nailguns to nail people on the wall. i dont know what else, gimme ideas man, you seem to have enough of 'em, i think i should read through all these pages and i 'll find loads of inspiration. Oh yes, i forgot the flamethrower and da grenades! the grenades were allways missing! And better knife and sword animations. Ducking should be possible and and and
Damn! And all that in C++ and online?

greetz from a mildly drunk and sh!tty english speaking Valle

Edit: Oh man what a f*cking bullsh*t, i'm not allowed to swear now??

Good to hear that ss3 is on its way. Just notify us all when you have done it, even if that will be in ten years!

few ideas for ss3:

Teams
Multiplayer
Physics
Ducking/Prone
Fixed Machineguns
Bubble Shields/Gravity Lifts(like Halo 3)
Charges/claymores/timebombs/nukes?/pipebombs/smokegrenades/fraggrenades
More Gameplay options (Capture the flag/King Of The Hill)

You can do anything with C++.

I'd reccomend the following:

Allegro (For blitting and other drawing purposes along with the window creation itself)

Winsock (For creating the server and clients)

Apache (For hosting the server)

That should do for coding and program-wise .

Of course, Winsock and ALLEGRO do take time to learn in themselves.

Also: I would just like to say that C++ is pretty darn easy to learn. What's hard is remembering the STL stuff and different libraries .

Nice game, btw...

@Valle
If you need any help, I know C++ and would be very willing to help For the networking, I strongly recommend RakNet. It worked perfectly the first time for me, and has advanced options like making certain a message arrive, even though the connection is over UDP rather than TCP. (UDP is faster, and has much less overhead). I do not know allegro, but it shouldn't take long to get used to it (downloading now). It's no problem if you want to do it on your own, but I would do anything if it meant I got to play it sooner

If you'd need another C++ programmer, I could help as well! I know Allegro, but not connection stuffs.
