Just be patient I’m still not sure how to release this considering that I have no internet access (apart from café) no credit card and my games is going to be a very large file maybe if someone was going to host this I could burn the game on a disk then if they gave me an address I could mail it to them you know old fashioned post not email anyway its an idea

oh you can burn it easily as pie but you can't play it from the disk you have to copy a paste it on to your hard dive then click on the fps icon and it should work fine and as for the post idea people would have to email me there address so I can post it I suppose but I not selling its going to be free which also makes post a problem long distance mail is expensive I would only consider it if I was mailing it to some one who would hosting it on a web site so other people could then download it or am I just going to have to bite the bullet and get the internet?

Try filefront.
You can upload your game there and then post the link here.

smallfish- I got the site, and have 50 gigs of space. I might be able to put an upload page on my site, and give you the link. if not, host it on filefront, give the link, I'll download it, then host it on my site.

and thanks for including me in the credits.

hi everyone I'm afraid something horrible has happened I back up my game every month burning it onto a disk but for the last month I have been sorting out all the bugs the game has and as I was playing an executable of my game it crashed on level 11 so I built another one and that crashed on level 11 as well for some reason fpsc refused to make working executables after that so I uninstalled it now that means I have to redo a lot of work and I know this sounds lazy but I just don’t feel like it right now I've got work and I just got some new games to play I don't feel like spending my spare time sorting out a game that might crash again I will make this game but please be patent I only got 24 hours in a day I am redoing the work but slowly at this rate it will take about a month or two to complete again if it don't crash so I'm sorry masterchief 193 and Zaibatsu and everyone else but your going to have to wait

Your right crashing does suck Zaibatsu I’m just surprised it worked this long after reading though the bug section crashing seems to happen often with fpsc and thanks for the comment American Infantry now to take videos you need fraps right? I downloaded it once to take a video of my biplanes but even small videos were very large in size so large I could not fit them on a memory stick the only way to compress them was to buy the application but as I don't have a credit card I can't but if you want your own bayonet just give the blaster the magnum gun script reduce its range and change the gun sound oh and as for the Cohesive Light Rifle I was just trying to think of a new way to say laser rifle as a laser is light right?

You can use Fraps to make your video and then use Windows Movie Maker to make it .wmv format. The file size will be a lot smaller.

Your game looks really good! I hope nothing pops up again to stop your progress.

Well about the game, it's a great idea and all the textures are yours so it's always good to see different graphics. And because you made your own textures you didn't have to use WW2 soldiers
Also the level where you have the x-ray vision looks really good.

Good luck with the game.

What a nice thing to say at the moment I'm kinder fearing another crash so instead of releasing a 14 level game I cutting it in half into two games about 6 or so levels each that way your get to play the first few levels which work fine and I can put more effort into the last few levels that still need a lot of effort my last level sucks anyway thanks again for the comments here’s a pic of the credits

I have always loved H.G Wells, Verne and the other stories that they now call Steampunk and this follows well in that tradition. Keep up the good work; this is going to be superb!

Downloading now small fish. I will give you my thoughts when I'm done .

Edit: If you want me to be honest, I had absolutely no fun with this game. Here are the reasons.

1. Story. The game is called "The Principality of Mars". This story could be totally awesome. In this case, you didn't even mention it besides the title screen background which is a newspaper that isn't aligned correctly. You pretty much start in what appears to be a hotel, and then you shoot red guys, and on the next level things explode.

2. The level design. The rooms are far too big with what little entities they contain, and a good amount of the rooms are pointless. The level was fairly short for their size (my computer was chugging and I mine's pretty good), and the largeness served no purpose. Also, you had to sacrifice the texture size, which made everything look bland. There was no visible lightmapping, and you could see the seems on most of the textures. I also got a bunch of texture issues where there was some z-clashing. The music also just randomly started in a hallway some way before the first fight on the first level. I recommend starting it when the fight starts.

3. Gameplay. As I said, the framerate was chugging, and when I did fight the enemies (nice texture by the way), they were unrealistically hard to kill and not fun at all. Entities seemed to be placed randomly, and the puzzle at the end wasn't implemented naturally (why did there happen to be boxes right near a fence with an unlocked door, which, by the way, were almost the only visible entities in the room).

This is my honest opinion. If you can, well, turn this around, perhaps test out your levels more, this game will be pretty sick.

ok everyone I know that was a pretty bad review (it felt like being kicked repeatedly in the [mod edit] may I ask that some more people download this game and see if they had the same opinion
and if so I will be quite frank I still want to make this game good come hell nor high water so what should I work on first the level design? What makes a good fps level I thought they were good most of my level designs were based on my favourite fps game half life 2 and city 17 was filled to the brim with pointless empty rooms or should I keep these levels and work on the plot you see I had this great idea for a story and a ton of concept art but I’m no author I didn’t know what to write
Help me make a better game

Here's a tip.

Don't let Half Life 2 inspire your levels. The Source engine is 10 times better than FPSC and will kill your framerate (which it did).

The story sounds cool and would work if you made it surround you in-game.

I recommend not putting in as many pointless rooms, working on lightmapping (with light entities near them), and focusing on getting your FPS down. The story is pretty cool too.

Good luck!

i have to say, the thing i admire most about what you have done is the retextures on the stock media, you have really made use of the stock media and made it your own which is great! I especially like the british officer uniform with the jacket

right some positive vibes that’s what I needed I've taken in your advice played a lot of good demos like butterfingers and the level contest winners and I’ve got a good idea of what plays well and what doesn’t I going to create new levels and cut scenes and reduce enemy health even out the combat, improve ai I will not stop until this game is great as for my cutsceans will pictures one after another like my credits be o.k. or should I lean how to create fmvs
and I'm still thinking of keeping the first level of the demo because even know its short and slows down I think seeing the enemies out the window before you fight them is a great introduction to the enemy but I don't think it will be the first level I might do few levels of just plot walking around talking to people anyway lots of work to do
Btw what did you think of the guns should I change anything about them?

right I would apologise about not posting for a week because I've been sick but since no one actually looked at this tread for a week it seems kind of pointless. Now I've been experimenting with the level design I will post a new demo soon maybe I should delete the filefrount demo because it does not represent the game I am now working on

thank you mastercheif 193 truth be told I've been playing lots and lot of demos of other peoples game and I have discovered something my game is rubbish the levels where to large it was buggy as hell and lacked plot so I started a new game a horror game with an deep plot and small controlled levels so far it going well and because of this I’m spending less time on the principality I will still make this game but most of my attention will be spent on my new project

Ok here's my thoughts on the demo.

Good
-Liked the the retextured well everything.
-Like the random blimp in the sky.
-Loading screen background is cool.
-Well that everything is re done.
-Liked the little bit of story you had behind the game.

Bad
-Big enviroments slowed my computer like crazy.
-I got stuck randomly in the middle of a huge area.
-After a while it gets repedetive.

Well I'm excited to hear that you are going to be making a new horror game.

Thank you I think I’m going to cry your all so kind
the level I working on still hasn’t got any cutsceans its just to see If I can make a good level seeing if giving the player low heath 100 or 50 hp and making the enemies one shot kill would make the game more trilling so tell me what you think on that I have also only just learnt that you can make the enemies spawn on a trigger zone meaning that should also slow down the frame rate will upload it soon

sorry to disappoint you again mastercheif 193 but the fact is the level I’m working on just isn't that fun and I don’t want to release any more bad levels so I'm going to work on it all weekend I will try to get a good level working by Monday btw I just brought a microphone so from now on no more flashing text on screen but instead voice acting to tell the story
