Apparantly those clever Nin guys are sending out free Wii dev kits to the smaller software houses.

What a damn clever move on their part - we'll see some really different games I think, smaller development houses, less over-bearing publishers sticking their nib in - and at such a small development cost it could mean cheap and original games for years and years.

That's not what I was saying. I was just answering the point if it could ever be emulated. The answer is yes. Just you may not be able to get your hands on it.

I keep saying it, but online Wii Jedi lightsaber battles on a projector (perhaps with some kind of force push effect with another controller) is going to take me to the adult nappy shop.

I get that all the time But soon you will be crying with fear as I slice you up using my (obviously red) light saber. Oh yes. If people aren't excited about Wii Jedi then they are dead inside. Or under 30 years of age.

I'm not very excited about any star wars games, regardless of their consoles. But I'm both dead inside and slightly under 30 (by four years anyway), so I guess I don't matter I saw Jedi in the theaters when I was a kid, that should count for something, in some way attribute to my geek-dom

I would very much like a bit in a Wii lightsaber game, where they blank the screen and use the stereo speakers and the one in the controller to do that bit in "A New Hope" with the helmet with the blast sheild. Cool.

The teddy bear one doesn't count on it's own.

Quote: " that bit in "A New Hope" with the helmet with the blast sheild."
Pretty cool I must admit. Personally I want extra controllers for using all those force moves. eg. a special one for crushing your windpipe, one for pushing you away, and obviously one for sounding like a cough sweet advert. Oh yes. Feels like I am 10 again. Hmmm. Mix in a few ghosts and the ability to time travel and I'll partying like its 1985 (although I was 12 at the time, and I'm sure ghostbusters came out in a different year, but you get the idea)....

MS did that with some indi devs as well for their Xbox 360 Alpha kits. That being said, to buy a Wii dev is a *lot* cheaper than the 360 and PS3s or so I hear.

I just can't wait for all the systems to be out so my stocks go up!

It's actually cheaper to by a Wii dev kit than it is a PSP dev kit. I know which one I would choose. Hint: It's not made by Sony.

The way I see it is, the 360 is basically your standard (but kick-ass) console. I has sweet DX 10, HD graphics and an AWESOME online system.

The Wii is is just cool - it's innovative, cute'and clever. It does everything 360 doesn't. It's the 'other option'.

The PS3 is superflous. And over priced.

So far I have seen 0 seconds of in game PS3 footage. That's 2 whole E3s and ZERO seconds.

The next gen 360 games look sweet. Microsoft only had games to show at E3 this year and they still kicked Sony (ask ANYONE who isn't a Sony fanboy).

Mass Effect, Gears of War and Halo 3 (which will come out the day PS3 does), along with Live, should ensure Sony 'lose' this round.

I'll get a Wii because it honestly looks like the next step in Family gaming.

I agree with everything you've said, except:

Quote: "Halo 3 (which will come out the day PS3 does)"

This was a rather heated comment by Bill Gates, but it's not going to happen anymore. PS3 is slated to be released this year, and Halo 3 is for 2007. I wish like everyone else that the stars would align and allow this to happen, but sadly it's not the case anymore.

It's not like Halo 3 would destroy the PS3 or anything. It wouldn't even scratch it. I wish they'd be released on the same day too, just so I could prove that to be true

@Chris K

There's a lot of in-game PS3 footage floating about, just check gamespot. For example:

We just got a 360, and really only been playing Need for Speed. Been thinking about getting Kameo, just haven't gotten around to it. We also have Call of Duty, but we've already played it to death at my friend's. I've been playing Conker: Live & Reloaded (never played Bad Fur Day) more than NFSMW though.

[EDIT]Wow. Out of place. Completely missed the third page. Hmmm. If PS3 can drop its price and give me good FF games and a good one from the Indigo Prophecy guys then I'll get it.

Agreed. I'm not a Xbox fanboy, I never even owned an Xbox or any of the Xbox Halos, but I'm quite confident there are legions of people out there who would urinate onto the circuitry of the PS3 for Halo 3.

Hell, I'd prefer Halo 3 over any PS3 game right now just to try it out.

How could one game break the back of an entire console? Name one game in history that's ever done it? I rest my case. Halo isn't enough to stop the Playstation or even come close. Whether people on these forums want it to or not, Sony will succeed, and even in the very unlikely chance that it doesn't take the #1 spot this round (very, very, very unlikely), there will most undoubtedly be a PS4 (or whatever they name their next-next gen console).

I should've got ya while I was in Rochester. Cursed missed opportunity.

Halo 3 won't kill PS3, but it will distract a considerable amount of potential PS3 buyers who would have otherwise went to the Sony side of the line. Besides, Xbox Live Arcade's getting Symphony of the Night.

It was a three week summer study program thing at Eastman. I unfortunately missed out on hitching along with the people who went to the House of Guitars, they rarely let us out of this one single block where the school had security cameras watching.

That stinks, it sounds like a concentration camp! Was it for high school or for college? If it's a private HS I could understand that (to a limited extent), but isn't Eastman a music school like Juliard? They should have granted the students more freedom imo. If it's an art school, they shouldn't have been restrictive.

Heh heh, I the less restrictive artsy match makes sense to me. Eastman is a conservatory like Juliard, but we were there for a high school program so I guess they were just trying to watch their behinds. I can imagine all those baby boomer parents starting a mass revolt if one of their star instrumentalists got roughed up by a hobo or something.

I guess that makes sense. But man, if I have a kid (god help you all) and I send him/ her to a music school, I'd be upset if they didn't let him/ her go out and experience the city where he/she is studying. Eh, what can you do At least I hope you learned some cool stuff while you were there.

Yuck, college hunting stinks. I went to Brown, NYU, Temple (in Philly), Syracuse, Oneonta, and a few other state. nearby schools, and all I accomplished was a serious waste of gasoline. After all that mucking about, I didn't even leave home I hope you have better luck on your college hunting expedition than I did hehe.

You know whats better that spending £500+\$600 on a games console...
Actually getting out and having a good time, spending the money on useful things.
But still, if you wanna throw that much money away (then do it again in about 2 or 3 years) go ahead.

Personally, I'd rather pay £190 or so for the Wii, and about £30 a game every couple of weeks (these are made up numbers, because I don't know the prices yet - I doubt they're far off), rather than £60 every weekend on booze and then save up for a liver transplant when I'm 40.

At least, that seems to be the alternative, around where I am. But - I just don't fancy it, myself.

Rumble in the Jungle, eight rounds of hell-on-earth for George Foreman. No matter how hard he hit Ali, no matter how many times he slammed his tree-trunk-fists into Ali's smaller body, it was of no consequence. Sorry, I'm like the TGC resident-boxing fan lol.

IMO, whenever I see the PS3, I always have the feeling that it's only for pro gamers. I know this isn't true, but, that's what I see in it. It seems to serious, high-end, and professional. When I picture myself playing it, I see a very serious guy acting like a pro gamer. When I see myself playing the Wii, I look happy, and I'm laughing and having a lot more fun. The other systems look more appealing to me. The price doesn't make the PS3 look any better.

Bio Fox...four guys, one computer, games like nobody's business.
