game station, that new link has been working fine for people. It takes you to my filefront page, which has only one file in it - Darkest Island.

Hudson, thanks for the comments! I don't have a website for my next game yet, but I will soon.

lol, i got to about levl 4 or 5 in part 1, which ever level has the elevator glitch, after that i couldnt be bothered to play anymore and some friends appeared at my door anyway, but out of what i've played of it:

It's freakin' awesome!! it made me jump quite alot, especially when things that i thought were dead weren't. great use of media, shame about the icon. if you were to change the icon, get rid of the glitchs and add a bit more custom media you could have an awesome comercial game and you could even try and get publishing from a small games publishing company, im sure you wouldnt mind selling it for £10 (around $20) as i certainly wouldnt mind buying it for that! awesome game, cant wait 'till i finish it!

best of the rest!

The splash screens seemed to take a long time to load and fade. I'd like to see these load and fade faster, or for you to introduce a slideshow effect, to breakup the lengthy load time.

The main game menu did not display any radio buttons. I had to randomly click around with the cursor, and search for the "buttons". I do have the latest DirectX update installed.
"

I had the exact same issues. When I started the game from the root dir your logo stayed on the screen forever and wouldnt go away (BTW, Nice logo). I had to go into the game folder and use the EXE. Then I had to click around to find the buttons on the game menu to start the game because I could not see them. I also saw the transparent door. I am no expert and I usually dont give tips (there are others that would be better at it) I feel however that if you dont allow the play back into the elevator that would be a huge plus. They just go all the way to the top and get stuck. If they cant get back into the elevator that wouldnt happen. Puting the win zone for the previous level where the player exits the elevator would be good. When they spawn in the eleveator behind them should not be usable anymore. That would confirm the fact that they cant go back.

The fact your one of the few members around to make a game that uses not one piece of TGC media makes this a breath of fresh air(media like cursors/splash/buttons/load/etc).
"

The fact is that the game was chuck full of TGC media. That is just fine. You did a brilliant job of utilizing it. I am building a game using very little custom media. In alot of cases its not the tools that matter, but how you use them.

I thought that it was alot of fun to play and that you could retail the concept without a doubt.

The person that now knows the most started with many questions. Patients and tolorance are the keys to the passage of knowledge. FPSC is Getting better. Now if we can just keep the ball rolling.

it's an inch less than commercial.

this is better than most sold fpsc games but i KNOW a little more effort could make this an amazing game

Thanks guys! My next game will not be a sequel to Darkest Island. It is a new game concept that I don't think anyone has done before in a FPS. That's all I am able to say for now.

Whoa. There's so many superlatives in here so I only have one thing to say. Darkest Island is the most superkalifragilistic FPSC game I've seen. Great job.

I completed it ages ago...and forgot about giving my reveiw. Lol.

Its a pretty good game, and the story has been put together real well. The placement of zombies and sound zones made me jump once or twice...it had that real professional feel about it.

What I would suggest is add darkness. What scares people is corners and corridors that are dark. Have the odd fake dead zombie lying in the dark, so they will never know what to expect. Keep them on their toes.

The ending..was..pretty..crap. No offence..but the mixture of video clips...was a bit odd. Lol.

I give it 7/10.

big..hahaha..you said big!

so, i played this game and it freaked me out. its to scarry. anyway, when i found out that < and > worked that helped a lot. I managed to brightup the whole game and was not scared anymore and shot everybody back to where they came from.

Reason im posting... why do debug controls still work? that kinda suck, as people can manipulate gameplay/experiance with it.

Just found out about Darkest Island on www.planetphillip.com yesterday and downloaded it from his server. I'm having the same problem as zakattak. In the middle of loading the first map, game crashes to desktop. I tried his solution, uninstalled, downloaded from FilePlanet and re-installed. I have all the latest drivers from mfg's. I'm still having the same problem. Do you or anyone else have a solution. I've read all the posts and I would most enjoy playing your game. I love SciFi movies and games. Please help

Luke, just found out about your game on Phillip Marlow's website. downloaded it. Now I'm having the same problem that zakattak had. In the middle of loading the first map game crashes to desktop. I have all the latest drivers from Mfg's. as of last week. I tried zakattak's solution and uninstalled, downloaded from FilePlanet and still have the same problem. Can you or someone else on the forum help me? I've read all the posts and would very much like to play your game. I love SciFi games and movies.

Game station, can you open & play Part 2? It's stange but I can play Part 2 with what appears to be no prob. I'm wondering if Luke's logo has anything to do with this. The logo stays on screen untill I click the mouse then crashes. Thoughts?

Filefront seems to remove files from a user if they are inactive for awhile - at least that seemed to happen to me.

Vote today and play the games!

I know how to fix it!

Edit: Copy the files folder from part 1 and paste it in the part 2's game folder (where the exe is)... Copy a backup of part 2 if you still want to play it... Takes about 5min... This will add part 1's files in and make it work while overwriting existing files... When windows asks about overwriting files or moving read only files press 'yes to all'... How does this work? YAY 200th POST!!!
