Leaning Objects To The Side

Thanks for your praise, always nice to have good comments. At the moment I am still very busy trying to get the extra stuff I promised to the users of Dark Egypt but I would like it all to be perfect before it is released to you.
I am not sure wether I will do another Pack or not at the moment.

If I get any news on any release of mine soon, I or the Gamecreators will let you know asap.

All the best Leaning Objects To The Side

Cheers

I'm afraid you will have to ask Richard Vanner for the answer to that one.

While this is back up on the first page, is there any news about the new version and addons?

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

It's the strangest thing, this post appearing again and the fact that I actually sent the new version 'Dark Egypt-V2' and the 'Bonus Egypt Pack today to The Game Creators.
I had sent a version of 'Dark Egypt-V2' to them a while ago but I saw there was room for more improvements, so it was halted for some time.
Hopefully, The Game Creators will be releasing them as soon as possible.
As soon as I hear anything, I will create a new post to let you all know.

Sorry for the wait.

All the best

Ross,

What bugs does DarkEgypt have? I got it on Monday, just had a quick look on the objects. It would be great if you could tell me about the bugs so I don't use any of the buggy models.

First of all, welcome to the Forum.

It's hard to explain but there are no 'buggy models' as such.
Dark Egypt was originaly designed to be used in a certain way but some users found that a bit restricting in certain circumstances, so 'I' decided to reconstruct Dark Egypt and give the users a more user friendly version, but unfortunatly this takes time to do when there are so many files involved.
Dark Egypt has a very descriptive directory structure with many sub folders involved which is causing FPSCreator problems to read when reading texture address's for a final build game.

With Dark Egypt-V2, I have made improvements to the way 'ceilings' are placed and a few minor texture improvements, plus a restructure of the whole directory in the Pack which has solved the previous problem with textures not being copied over to a final build game.

Dark Egypt-V2 and the Bonus Pack will both be 'free' and come with a 'PDF' manual describing any improvements and extra content.

This is all I can say at the present time until Dark Egypt-V2 and the Bonus Pack become available.

I hope this has explained some things and I will keep you all informed when and if I get any more information.

All the best

Sure, I can't see any problem with them being posted here at the moment but 'please remember that both packs have yet to get The Game Creators approval for official release', even if both are free.

In the download here you will find a 'zip' containing both the PDF manuals, one for Dark Egypt-V2 and one for the Bonus Pack.
The original manual for Dark Egypt still applies to the use of most of the media found in the new Packs.

By the way Nickydude, the quality of my PDF's is not as good as yours which I think are very well done.

I will try to keep everyone informed on any progress as soon as possible but please feel free to ask any questions.

All the best of luck

Ross

EDIT - Be aware that the download is 5.44 MB.

The Game Creators have had the new version and the bonus Pack for three weeks now and at the moment I am asking them when they might be released.
I know that they are busy right now with other things so I'm afraid that we all will have to wait.

That's all I can say at the moment but as I have said before, I will keep you all informed as soon as I get 'any' information.

Sorry mate, but thats the way it is at the moment.

All the best

LOL
It's ok, there's no rush

The textures in Model Pack 8 are outstanding btw! I really hope that TGC will continue the theme (Dark Egypt). Some mummies and more entities would be a good idea for a future pack.

Nickydude & all

The installers for both Packs are being worked on right now but I'm afraid that I received another e-mail today saying that there will be another slight delay.
TGC appear to be extremly busy and I'm afraid that other projects of theirs have a higher priority at the moment.
Again, sorry for the delays but I/TGC will let you all know for sure when the two Packs are ready for download.

Thanks to you all nnd good luck.

I have model packs 1-10, and I must say that this pack has the best segments and items.

You have all those packs yet you made a thread asking for free stuff because you didn't have enough money. I'm not going to accuse you of anything, I just think it's a little fishy.

Hello All

Just a few quick words to inform you that the new 'Dark Egypt-V2' Pack and the promissed 'Bonus Pack' are now available for you to download through your 'Order History'.

In case you haven't read it before, the 'Dark Egypt-V2' Pack has been released to replace the original Dark Egypt Pack and should now be much more versatile than the first version.
The 'Bonus Pack' contains extra content which is Themed to fit in with the Dark Egypt environment and is my way of saying thank you to all who have purchased Model Pack 8.

Ps...There are also updated PDF manuals available for both new Packs.

Best.

Ah, didn't see the update. Nice, finally it's released. Will download it now.

Can I install it over the old files without messing something up? Or will it affect my maps that use Dark Egypt-files?

Sorry mate, the two new Packs did get a new post (sticky)from TGC but for some reason they took it off after about a week and they were both going to get a mention in the latest newsletter but that got muddled up and will appear in the next newsletter.
Both the new version of Dark Egypt and the Bonus Pack will install into newly named directories so they will not (famous last words)overwrite any of the existing data from the previous version of Dark Egypt but you will have to leave the first version installed if you wish to use existing segments or entities already in place from maps (levels) already created.

I have also supplied two new PDF manuals which explain the changes made in the new version and the contents of the Bonus Pack.
You can download the PDF manuals from the link at the bottom of this post.
I hope you find the changes made to your advantage and find a use for the contents of the Bonus Pack.

All the best of luck.

Ross
