It's funny how people have such a short memory. Not too long ago everyone was slagging off Underside for using Call Of Duty textures in his model packs, now people are saying he should be a mod'!

Sometimes, the people most capable to do a dirty job don't have a spotless record. Underside has done great at the quite dirty job of putting a dent in some of the piracy issues. For that, I am thankful.

The mods we have now do a fine job and I personally don't see a need for any new ones unless the existing ones get promoted to global status.

Back on topic, at least one user (I've been in contact with) has been trying out some of the weapons in the public beta of X10. So far, no joy. Just wanted to let people know this is on my radar. Obviously, I'd like the media to at least be usable and stable for future X10 users.

You've made your explanations, Underside. Some people just want to keep poking at a wound to see if it'll get infected. They should be ignored.

Best.

I'm sorry, my answers are limited. You must ask the right question.

@TGC
Since both packs are pretty much the same with a couple of retextures....shouldn't #10 be $9.95 and #9 be $20.00(and leave off the 20% thingy)?

I got most of the ones I cared about in. And most of the main versions of anything I've ever shown on these forums. Most of the weapons that were cut were M4/M16 variations. So, it's not like any real variety was lost. If things look similar between the packs, they more than likely function differently.

Similarity being in the eye of the beholder, I don't really consider any of the MP9/10 weapons to be re-textures though some are clearly derivative of others.

Quote: "Hey, does anyone know if the pack with the Deagle had the alternate gold texture?"

It does not include that. But I will look into releasing it. The gold texture you saw might not work with the released version of the model. But I will look into it.

Quote: "Hey does anyone have aproblem were there weapons change White? when theres more than 5 guns on the map?"

That's the first I've heard of that. Is this in build or test? If this is happening in build, it's likely because textures were not copied over into the associated directories in your built game.

You need to be familiar with the FPSC file structure to access these. In the different files\gamecore\guns directories are the MP9 & 10 files for the HUD weapons.

There is a readme for each that details activating the alternate versions.

Basically, there are some additional .X files that have these parts included and they need to be renamed and swapped with the default .X file. In many cases there are also vweaps and entities that can be swapped also.

Am I like the only one who things these should be costing more? I mean, look at Torque model packs, about the same amount of content (or less) for $40+ a pop. And you want 'em for $10?!

I saw MP9 and 10.

I don't know which one to get though. I'm thinking of getting 9 because of the mostly Personal defense weapons.

I don't care what they say. T3DGM Rules!!!

It should be fairly obvious for those that are familiar with how FPSC handles weapons...

In that same directory, where you found the readme, there are some additional .x files aside from HUD.x and VWEAP.x. These additional files have a suffix in their name (ex. HUD_with silencer.x and VWEAP_with silencer.x) FPSC ignores these additional .x files and only uses HUD.x and VWEAP.x.

So, what you first need to do is back up the original directory/files in case you make a mistake.

Then, delete the existing HUD.x and VWEAP.x .x files. Make duplicates of the HUD and VWEAP version you want and remove the descriptive suffix from the file names.

Because some of the alternate versions are for advanced users, you may need to supply additional media yourself. For example, there is no silenced gunshot sound effect included. In most cases there are also alternate .x files in the appropriate entity bank that can be swapped to match the HUD weapon. You will need to locate the name of the alternate entity mesh and change the .FPI to point to it.

So, if you use the silenced version of the model, you will need to create your own fire.wav or use one from model pack 6.

Likewise, if you use the version with the torch attached, you will need to implement either a flashlight script or a cross-hair replacement mod.

I really don't know how to explain it any more clearly. So, I hope that helped. Please let me know if additional clarification is needed.

It's unbelievable, but it seems white texture nightmares are still attacking me.

In the built game, after I picked up the weapon, the weapon (with the hand) texture is white. How can I get rid of this problem?

The packs (9 and 10) must be installed in the correct directory because I leaved the default installation path unchanged.

I installed the V106_RC4_220607 update, and I have the latest DirectX updates.

Hi Captain Kirk,

After you have built your game, you need to manually copy over the extra textures from gamecore\guns in FPSC to gamecore\guns in your built game. There is a readme included in each HUD weapon gamecore directory but in general, just make sure you copy over all the .dds and .jpeg files and you should be fine. This applies for Model Packs 5,6,9 & 10.

AFIK, TGC is going to make it so that all additional gamecore\guns files are copied over when a game is built as part of 1.07 when it is released.
