Before i make a thread on this, am just gonig to throw a few ideas around.

After alot of anatomy lessons, general physics, focused physics on this topic, i have found that a device such as Decoraters stilts;

Can dramatically increase you movement distance, - stating the obvious thier. What i mean to say is, i want to start a side project on creating a viable everyday version of these. My main idea is to create a more feline structure, Ref;

I can be commisioned to create a pair of these by a 'Cosplay' Fan if i make them ''Dragon'' like. Whatever pays the bills right?

Design;

The stilt would have to use a hydrulic balance system and a spring snapping mehcanism to gain movement. Am working on design sketchs now, along with some calculations. But i keep coming to a point where am worried about a prolonged use of something like this, along with how to dissapate the stress and tension generated, away
from the foot.

What am asking without stupidity; is this viable?
I mean on paper everything adds up to a certain extent but that can only go so far.

Heres a quick sketch of the system i think will work.

Its very rough but illustrates the the general movement i want to aim for. Its all good on paper, but i would need to have another system to retract the 'foot' up as you take the step.

What is your opinions/ thoughts on the movement system?

Any help would be greatly apprciated
-Laz

Ahah, finally completed Star Ocean: The Last Hope. It has taken me between 45 and 50 hours. The last boss was a real pain the butt, I mean who makes a boss that has 5,000,000 health? That's just sadistic.

Good story. Good fun. Bad dialogue. Bad Voice Acting.

Great game. Loved it. Now, to start all over again.

If you like JRPGs it's a worthwhile title to get. It's battle system is real time and you can see you enemies before you enter battle, which avoids 2 peeves people often have with JRPGs (turn-based and random battles) though real time, it's not really a button-masher, you have to think about some of your attacks - you can use different spells and techniques, as you would in a typical JRPG, but you might find using things like Blindsiding and rush mode to be very handy. In the last boss, I did a chain combo in rush mode with 2 characters which dealt 60,000 hp, which as you can see it's a pretty handy thing to do, though not always easy to pull off, especially when you're being bombarded with attacks.

So it has a lot of action in it. The story is good and you can have some quite long cut scenes where you can drop your controller and kick back whilst you rest your fingers. The bosses are challenging, even if you've trained your characters up well, so grinding can help, but you will find that you need to have some skill to beat a boss.

The only annoyances are:

the dialogue - truly awful - the characters say some stupid things and aren't very good at delivering a point and they go on a little bit.

the voice acting - some characters are fine, Edge you might find a bit whiny, most of the female characters are annoying, Reimi can be okay and Myuria is fairly normal.

certain characters - Edge (the MC) is meant to be strong and virtuous, but I find he whines too much to be that 'strong' figure and his sentiments of 'friendship' seem a little cliched and 'pass the bucket' and he can get sentimental too often I think. Plus he's so very naive. Sarah is just a complete moron, she's perhaps funny to a Japanese audience, but it didn't translate well for me, likewise Lymle is meant to be 'cute'.

But they don't stop it from being an overall great game. I find my above annoyances appearing in anime I've watched, considering I'm not an anime fan, it'd probably explain it. Maybe to an audience that loves anime, they wouldn't mind the voice acting or the characters.

So I would recommend it to anybody who likes those sort of games.

I must get a pair, That saved so much time BiggAdd.

The design is far more advanced and lightwight than i thought. It uses a very elastic material to counter balance each step allowing better versatility and a larger range of movement based on the ability to use a extended area apart from the bottom. Very clever.

Pricing a set now ^_^

The doc was prescibing a lot of different kinds of pain killers. One of them was addictive or something, and then he took Jackson off it and gave him all sorts of other things. But then Jackson was like "YO DAWG, GIMME MY PILLS BACK!" and so the Doc did (apparntly maliciously). Unfortunetly, then Micheal Jackson took the addictive ones plus all the other ones he had been given all at once and went blam.

Or so Ive heard.
