@AndrewT: I like the way that it has GBA but not GBC or anything. Also NES&SNES&Sega Genesis but not for example the Sega Megadrive (arguably one of the best consoles of all time. Sega Megadrive & N64 ftw)

New editing control scheme
Fixed HUD to work at higher resolutions

All that's left now is a save-level function and a delete object button and it should be done, unless I think of something else. Then it's on to modelling the objects.

I had an absolute scary dream where I was in mattress junkyard. I fell off a cliff, and went down down down. And when I got to the bottam, some one I know started screaming "PSALM 26!!!" at me over and over again. It was really vivid... I drew a picture.

Ooh, I like your controlling center thingy there Venge. Looks neat!

When you get the delete codes to work, please do share, for I am currently wondering how I might go and do that. And if I don't add that basic function to the program, well, I might kick myself later. xD

That depends on how you have your objects set up. For instance, I run a script that loads the object data from a .txt file into a UDT structure, which is part of an array. I have functions in place for adding and removing objects from this array, so adding the delete function will be as simple as assigning that function to be called on the selected object when the sprite is clicked. I just haven't written it yet.

The more involved part still to do is the saving function, though it shouldn't take too long. Just iterate through all the objects on the map, and write their data to a script that can be read on the next run. I'll also have to add functionality for multiple save files, as well as a load file button obviously.

Oh, remembered something else; a sorting feature for the object previews, or at least a move up/down button on the list.

@MSon:

No, I've been putting that off. I'm still working on object placement, rotation and basic "physics" (whatever those are!). I'm also attempting to tidy up my code as I go along, sometimes re-programming entire blocks to get something done in a better way. Once I program the file save/load functions I'll be ready to post a demo for people to look at. And I'll also post the codes for saving and loading, maybe that will half your development time (of course you'll have to modify it a bit by changing variable names, but that should only take a few minutes).

I used a program called CamStudio.

It's kind of tricky; if you don't save your video in your own folder after recording, it locks the video in its own folder and you can't access it through any editor (really annoyed me; I had to record my video again). It's pretty decent besides that though.

Save level
Load level
Clear level

Didn't really need a picture, but I felt like it.

Still to do: saving and loading files by name, and an easy fix with sprites being annoying on me.

Yes I did see it, but I haven't had time to try it out or implement it. In fact...I'm coming to a rather grotesque conclusion at the moment...this code seems to have several issues, especially in the menu functions. I might start re-programming the whole thing over and try out a few different approaches, this time working out the mechanics before I work on the pretties.

In all honesty, it won't take me that long. If I start now, I could probably finish it in a couple of hours. ::pulls up CodeSurge::. I'm gonna get on it.

Question, the memory on my motherboard is stuck at a max of 1 gig as it only has two slots, is there a product that will let me plug in more memory using the two slots(slots are orange).

You mean the motherboard itself is limited to 1 gig or you currently have two 512MB chips? You could replace them with higher-capacity chips, depending on your motherboard specifications.

I think its the slots that have the limit,or they don't make the memory for that type of slot any bigger than 512meg.

if it helps the pc is a Advent T9207a, I know if there had been no a on the model number it would have had 4 slots.

edit
Answered my own question on how much memory I can put in 2gig but I am still looking to see if there away to add more.

I think I can save my level editor and not have to re-code the whole thing like I thought. I just have to tidy up a few snippets, re-do a couple things, and BAM!, there we go.

The mouse seems super-sensitive on your demo. Dunno if that's just me, but moving it slightly caused the blocks to fly off the edge of the screen, and then I couldn't find them.

I'm having extreme difficulty with that part of the program; it's part of the reason why I wanted to create a grid-based system. I've no idea how I'd do that though, so I'm trying some other things out.

You're moving the objects based on mousemovex() and mousemovey() I'm guessing? Just change it to mousemovex()/4 or some other number depending on how sensitive it needs to be.
